Abstract Sea‐land breeze (SLB) is particularly important in coastal regions and can affect weather conditions air quality. However, previous research on SLB has predominantly focused specific locations, with varying methodologies used to identify days (SLBDs), leading a limited understanding of long‐term trends across extensive areas. Here, unified method for gridded reanalysis dataset SLBDs proposed the first time, trend, influencing factors, effects pollutant recirculation over China are explored. The results demonstrate that have increased 70% China's areas past five decades. Key driving factors include growing temperature contrast between land sea, increasing solar radiation, weakening background winds. study suggests frequency will enhance accumulations, making it challenging manage quality effectively these
