Climate warming disproportionately impacts countries in the Global South by increasing extreme heat exposure. However, geographic disparities adaptation capacity are unclear. Here, we assess global inequality green spaces, which urban residents critically rely on to mitigate outdoor stress. We use remote sensing data quantify daytime cooling greenery warm seasons across ~500 largest cities globally. show a striking contrast, with having ~70% of North (2.5 ± 1.0 °C vs. 3.6 1.7 °C). A similar gap occurs for benefits received an average resident these (2.2 0.9 3.4 This is due discrepancies space quantity and quality between South, shaped socioeconomic natural factors. Our analyses further suggest vast potential enhancing while reducing inequality.

At the present time, increase in level of motorization has led to levels congestion that are difficult for inhabitants large cities bear, with negative implications on quality life. Solving problem can no longer be achieved just by expanding and developing networks; other solutions must found fit requirements sustainable development society. One is becoming more promoted today increasing degree use high-capacity public transport networks. For this, network serve a surface as possible territory, operating conditions deal requests varied structure different intensities short time intervals. The paper aims review several models topological accessibility networks analyze how Bucharest metro serves after last extension carried out 2020. It noted only 56% city’s currently covered network, while city continuous territorial expansion. Through case study presented paper, some points interest residents who also determined. end, there formulated conclusions regarding coverage proposals further developments, so services offered benefit many Bucharest’s possible.
