Color and form are closely related to our daily lives can directly rapidly affect people's emotions, it is of great significance study the effects color garden plants on body mind urban residents. In this study, shrub Camellia japonica L., which has rich germplasm resources, was selected as research object. It aims address following questions: how flower colors types L. human physiology psychology? we recruited 158 participants participate in a controlled experiment quantitatively measure analyze physiological (heart rate, blood pressure, oxygen saturation, electroencephalogram [EEG]) psychological (anger, panic, nervousness, energy, fatigue, depression, self-esteem) indices before after viewing pictures all types, well them different colony configurations. The results evaluating indexes POMS values showed that images had restorative benefits. From indicators, pressure metrics were more sensitive an evaluation recovery than those heart rate stress significant stimulation petal category landscape type. Color, type, configuration type relaxation, concentration restoration, other moods differently reflected by α wave β EEG. questionnaires picture processes sinensis significantly reduced anger, self-esteem, effect males females. Our findings provide theoretical basis selection for application broader sense, intending improve their health benefits maximize environments.

Objective To date, a comprehensive analysis of urban green space (UGS) visitors’ emotional remains largely unexplored. In this study, we focus on how UGS environmental preferences, restorativeness, other physical factors (sound, air, and thermal environments), individual characteristics affecting visitor emotions. Such would allow relevant practitioners to check the quality UGSs improve certain conditions promote Methods A total 904 questionnaire responses with concurrently monitored were analyzed by independent sample t -tests, one-way ANOVA path analysis. Results The evaluation had largest impact positive emotions (β = 0.474), followed perceived restorativeness 0.297), which β values −0.120 −0.158, respectively, negative Air was more effective for increasing 0.293) than reducing −0.115). Sound also similar results 0.330 vs. −0.080). Environmental preference significantly influenced only 0.181) but could still indirectly Moreover, objective can affect enhancing their evaluations.. Conclusion influence different vary, as does impacts versus Positive generally affected UGS. Visitor mainly psychological factors. Corresponding suggestions are proposed design management in study.

Abstract Context Landscape change affects biological diversity and the distribution of species traits related to spiritual, educational, recreational benefits people derive from nature. These are associated with color, song behavioral characteristics that influence people's perceptions how attractive an assemblage is. However, environmental variables affect spatial attractiveness remain unexplored. Objectives We tested landscape structure influences patterns perceived bird (trait colorfulness, categories) across urbanization gradient. Methods used data standardized surveys birds landscapes within 42 units 1km 2 city Brisbane in eastern Australia. structural equation modeling test effects composition (built infrastructure, percentage tree cover) configuration (fragmentation on mean community attractiveness. Relationships between individual were analyzed using multinomial logistic regression models. Results Our analysis 82 shows relative amount built infrastructure a interacts fragmentation reduce overall landscape’s assemblage. areas can exhibit high where there is (1) reduced (2) increased vegetation provides key habitats for many colorful calls. when they at guild level (insectivores vs frugivores/nectarivores). In addition, body size moderates complexity, personality, color. Conclusions Small bodied, melodious negatively affected by fragmentation. In this study, we attempted to analyze the effect of color and temperature changes in forest environment over time on mood physiological state university students. The survey was conducted four times considering such as new leaf appearance growth, autumn changes, fallen leaves. participants’ moods states were first evaluated an indoor environment; a second evaluation after contact with forest. visual information analyzed through extraction from photographs taken each day. measured using Korean Profile Mood States-Brief heart rate variability measuring device, respectively. Changes experience according season had students’ states. particular, effects spring included relaxation tension activation vigor. This result is considered be influenced by factors season’s green color, which predominant However, no found participants season. results study can lead greater consideration role urban planning for universities other public spaces.

Green spaces can support human stress reduction and foster positive emotional well-being. Previous research has suggested that biodiversity (i.e. the variety of species plants animals in a given location) enhance recovery from even further. However, there is limited experimental evidence testing this hypothesis results, to date, have been mixed. This study aimed provide further understanding role (actual or perceived) on well-being by experimentally manipulating richness stress. Participants (372 total) took part an online experiment, where they received episode mild before watching 360-degree video recover. The showed same location, urban woodland, but at one four artificially manipulated levels biodiversity. participants reported their Positive Negative Affect after induction video, providing measure throughout experiment. also perceptions how diverse thought location was) elaborated responses with brief comments. Repeated Measure Analysis Variance revealed exposure all reduced participants’ Affect, no significant difference between conditions. analysis higher those who perceived environment as more biodiverse. Comments indicated noticing flowers trees Affect. suggests perceiving promotes emotions, critically needs actually notice (engage with) components elicit these extra benefits.

This study aimed to identify what specific plants and garden features in an intentionally designed wellbeing influence emotional reactions perceived restoration. To test this 142 visitors were recruited asked complete a survey as they walked around the garden. The guided participants instructing them stop at four Zones. They questions concerning how different Zones of made feel (sad, happy, excited, calm, restoration). In addition, included open-ended where such water elements, plants, views, structures (sculptures, seating, paving) felt evoked their response. Using mixed methods approach with ANOVA Content Analysis, results found key design linked restoration include sounds flowing water, open seating areas, far-reaching variety planting (colour, height, texture, scents, attracting wildlife). evidence can be used inform gardens that optimise outcomes.
