Bacteriophages, or phages, which are viruses with specifically restricted tropism for bacteria, have regained interest in the last few decades as alternative therapeutic agents against antibiotic-resistant pathogenic bacteria animals and humans worldwide. In this context, bacteriophage therapy has been developed to treat bacterial infections of cultured fish, shellfish, crustaceans. Nowadays, aquaculture is only feasible solution meet continuously growing global demand high-quality seafood. As such, it crucial focus on controlling spread they a significant economic impact systems. Overall, documented research supports application aquaculture, but also underlies need additional studies, still mostly scientific stage. This review aims highlight critically examine recent advancements bacteriophages most common infectious diseases both freshwater saltwater species, providing topical perspectives innovative advances.

This study is to explore the alleviating effects of glutamate on intestinal damage in cultured little yellow croaker. A total 900 juvenile fish at a weight 30.68 ± 0.12 g were randomly separated into six groups with three replicates each, and fed basic diet (protein 44.42% lipid 12.48%) additional 0.00%, 0.40%, 0.80%, 1.2%, 1.60%, 2.00%. Each replica group consisted 50 breeding barrel (radius 1.0 m, height 1.5 m), experiment lasted for 54 days. The results showed that supplementation 0.4–1.2% significantly improved survival rate, which increased from 75.56% 91.11%, reduced feed conversion rate 1.75 1.57, protein efficiency ratio 1.55 1.85 (p < 0.05). In intestines, addition 0.40–1.2% muscle thickness villus 0.05), as well activities pepsin, trypsin, α-amylase, lipase Enzyme activity analysis indicated enhanced serum Total Superoxide Dismutase (T-SOD), catalase (CAT), glutathione peroxidase (GPx) antioxidant enzymes Transcriptome 1.2% 0% revealed differentially expressed genes enriched synthesis, nutrient absorption metabolism, viral interaction cytokine receptor pathways. qPCR experiments verified up-regulated expression antioxidant-related genes, including synthetase Nrf2. conclusion, can enhance growth performance, increase digestive capacity, activate synthesis alleviate damage, maintain health.

Abstract The aquaculture industry is a rapidly growing sector and vital source of nutrients, with projected 10% increase in production by 2032. This rapid growth has prompted the need to identify sustainable feed supplements, as many aquatic species require nutritionally balanced diets. To address this, brown algae have emerged promising supplement due their rich content carbohydrates, fatty acids, minerals, antioxidants, other bioactive compounds, which can improve health performance farmed species. review describes algae, main well use feeds using different inclusion percentages impact on zootechnical (growth rate, weight, mortality) physiological (digestive activity, immune response, among others) parameters organisms. In addition, various processing techniques are discussed, including hydrothermal, enzymatic, supercritical fluid, ultrasonic, fermentation methods, bioavailability reduce antinutritional factors. challenges, future prospects, economic implications integrating into also highlighted. As aquaculture production grows, so does the demand for quality and cost-effective protein sources. The cost of fishmeal (FM) has increased over years, leading to costs formulated aquafeed. Soybean meal (SBM) is commonly used as an FM replacer in aquafeed, but anti-nutritional factors could affect growth, nutrition, health aquatic organisms. Cricket (CM) alternative source with a nutrient profile comparable due its high content, digestibility, amino acid profile. CM use aquafeed influences growth reproductive performance while modulating gut microbiota immune response fish shrimp. However, consistent regulation scaling up are necessary competitive prices marketing CM. Moreover, chitin content be issue some species; however, different strategies based on food biotechnology can improve safe
