Information on microplastic pollution in lentic systems is scarce many Asian countries, including Vietnam. This study investigated the status and characteristics of seven urban lakes Da Nang City, The two surveys were conducted during dry wet seasons. results showed that concentrations surface waters ranged from 293.3 ± 23.1–6510.0 380.4 366.7 23.1–1143.3 110.2 items m−3 seasons, respectively, which considered a moderate abundance level globally. predominance fibers remarkable microplastics feature all surveyed lakes, most primarily polypropylene (PP) polyethylene terephthalate (PET) <2000 μm length. ecological risk assessment based load index (PLI) potential (PERI) demonstrated excepting Ham Nghi Lake approached high season, both seasons remained minor. The massive consumption of a wide range plastic products has generated huge amount waste. There is need to provide awareness their uses and routine management as part our lifestyle. Nowadays, plastics are increasingly being used in daily life activities, including the packaging different food brewing companies, cosmetics, pharmaceutical, other production sectors pack end for efficient safer product's delivery community. The ongoing COVID-19 disease significantly affects not only human health, it also the wealth of country' economy and everyday routine life. To control spread virus, face mask is used as primary personal protective equipment (PPE). Thus, production usage masks increase pandemic still escalating. Further, most these contain plastics or other derivatives plastics. Therefore, this extensive generates million tons plastic wastes to environments in a short span time. This study aims investigate environmental impact induced by sustainable solution reduce waste. An online survey was carried out identify types number per week an individual from 1033 people. Based on available literature, quantifies amount waste generated masks. The ubiquitous use of plastics has been driven by their combination low cost and properties, but these attributes directly challenge waste management schemes for plastic recycling. Some postconsumer recycling programs are now nearly 50 years old, a significant fraction still finds landfills or other dumping strategies at end life. With the growing concern regarding waste, especially ocean plastics, there is need innovation alternative economic translation to valued product(s) that will promote efficient circular utilization. This review first describes technical hurdles associated with then it focuses on providing an overview emergent recover through new polymer design, processes, chemical transformations value-added products.
