Abstract The present work focuses on valorizing the various biochar supports of nano-catalysts and investigates effect type initial biomass deposition salient physico-chemical features zinc oxide (ZnO) nanoparticles. In this regard, we have used four different biomasses, namely, sugarcane bagasse ( Saccharum officinarum ), algae Phaeophyta mandarin orange peels Citrus reticulata China rose petals Rosa chinensis ) as sources biochar. Their wet impregnation with acetate was followed by pyrolysis at 500 °C. It led to (nicknamed “sweety,” “salty,” “sour,” “romantic” biochar, respectively) loaded very well dispersed, 20–360 nm-sized (mostly) ZnO Interestingly, depending used, size, shape (quartz-like, semi-spherical, spherical, semi-cauliflower, needle or rod-like), degree crystallinity nanoparticles (hexagonal crystal system) vary, in spite all other synthesis parameters being similar. Abstract The relationship between the practices and initiatives governing “waste production models” (sustainable development goal [SDG]12) marine biodiversity goals (SDG14) is relatively unexplored. Aiming to bridge this gap by drawing on stakeholder legitimacy theories, study examines onboard cruise ships' circular economy (CE)‐based waste management initiatives, correlating SGDs 12 14. Consequently, Carnival Corporation Plc's 2020–2022 sustainability reports are analyzed using content analysis both Leximancer software (ver. 5.0) manual methods. results highlight corporation's increasing commitment green technologies for achieve SDG14. However, its provide unclear evidence of impact biodiversity. Findings implies that practitioners should partner invest in Besides being first explore link two SDGs within CE framework, advances insights into models,” enhancing understanding sustainable practices.

Implementing Circular Economy (CE) strategies has recently become one of the essential for sustainable development and corporate social responsibility. However, despite promising role potential benefits CE companies society, there still been insufficient analysis examining challenges circular transition faced by micro, small, medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs) that standards, such as British Standard (BS) 8001:2017, play during process from linear to economy practices. Given this context further increase our understanding factors preventing CE, study aims assess implementation in MSMEs developing economies light BS 8001:2017 through a survey with Brazilian MSMEs. The primary findings emphasize practices Administration dimension occupied top positions ranking implementation, along practice Innovation dimension. results show several associated Transparency Product Optimization value chain held last level evidence implementation. Purpose The shift toward a circular economy (CE) represents collaborative endeavor necessitating the presence of efficient frameworks, conducive contexts and common comprehension. This research serves as pivotal stride towards this goal, presenting an exclusive prospect for investigation fusion these with particular emphasis on Quintuple Helix Model (5HM), into unified theoretical framework that underscores core principles CE. study is centered three questions aimed at decoding CE transition in specific regional settings. Design/methodology/approach Adopting abductive approach firmly anchored two-stage qualitative process, specifically merges foundational from institutional theory, entrepreneurship literature frameworks to provide insights dynamics ecosystems, focus Huelva region Spain. Findings findings demonstrate significant potential CE, ranging integration product service systems innovations eco-industrial practices. Yet, notable deficiency exists: absence entrepreneurs, highlighting essential role universities can play. As recognized centers innovation, are suggested be key contributors transformation aligning their societal economic responsibilities. Practical implications highlights importance managing relationships entities like SMEs policymakers or academia effective adoption. Policymakers refine strategies based research’s insights, while impact university-driven ecosystems sustainable societies another crucial area research. Originality/value sustainability models cited may not comprehensive enough prevent problem shifting, it argued they lack sound conceptual basis. Furthermore, connections between objectives levels operating system remain vague. Additionally, there insufficient information how regions foster involvement environment fivefold helix cooperation impacts
