The continual generation and discharge of waste are currently considered two the main environmental problems worldwide. There several management options that can be applied, though anaerobic digestion (AD) process technology seems to one best, most reliable, feasible technological have attracted remarkable attention due its benefits, including renewable energy in form biogas biomethane. is a large amount literature available on AD; however, with continuous, progressive, innovative development implementation, as well inclusion increasingly complex systems, it necessary update current knowledge AD technologies, variables their role performance, kinetic models commonly used describe process-reaction kinetics. This paper, therefore, reviewed technologies for treating or processing organic biomass regard classification, mechanisms involved process, affect Gazing into future, research studies reduced MS-AD operational cost, integrated hybrid AD-biorefinery technology, AD-thermochemical novel thermochemical reactor development, nutrient recovery from solid liquid residual disposal techniques more likely receive increased wastes.
