The fruit processing industry generates a considerable amount of waste, which leads to significant nutritional and economic losses. most common waste materials include pomace, peels, rind, seeds. They contain valuable natural bioactive compounds, such as carotenoids, polysaccharides, dietary fibers, enzymes, polyphenols, oils, vitamins. These compounds can be recovered by using suitable conventional or non-conventional methods. Conventional methods Soxhlet extraction, hydro-distillation, maceration. Non-conventional enzyme-assisted, ultrasound-assisted, microwave-assisted, solid-liquid, solvent extractions, well pulsed electric field. Fruit peels used synthesize metallic nanoparticles, edible packaging, single-cell proteins, biosorbents, biochar, carbon dots, biofertilizers. Furthermore, their have pharmacological potential. In particular, they utilized antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, antimicrobial, antiviral, anti-neoplastic agents. are also cost-effective solution that mitigate various environmental problems aid in reducing loss. this article, we reviewed different extraction techniques employed retrieve from peel along with industrial, biotechnological, applications.

Pumice is a natural rock that has many applications. It been used as an abrasive material, mold release agent in different industries like textiles and plastics, filler painting coating industries, aggregate stone the construction industry. The current work investigates possibility of using pumice adsorbent water treatment for removing chlorides sulphates ions laboratory batch adsorption experiments. capacity detected from decrease electrical conductivity aqueous salt solutions brought contact with surface pumice. method fast simple requires only use meter. effect content, initial salts concentration, pH, temperature, time on filtrates investigated. results showed decreases increasing increases temperature content. This study gives valuable information about process chloride sulphate removal their could be considered technically workable economically viable desalination.

Abstract The study explores the spatial distribution and trends of groundwater pollutants focusing on calcium four other key water quality parameters in Gurage Zone, Ethiopia, 2024. It uses ArcGIS geostatistical analysis tool with Kriging algorithm to map analyze variability contaminants. primary aim is identify areas high levels understand patterns. identifies contamination hotspots associated natural processes human activities. Twenty-seven samples were collected from various sites, like calcium, total dissolved solids, hardness, conductivity, alkalinity measured. findings show that contaminants varies significantly across different areas, some exceeding safe drinking limits. reveals southern region has highest concentration, shallow local boreholes. deeper wells have higher conductivity. trend shows increased pollutant along X Y axes. model effectively predicted unsampled offering a reliable technique aimed at monitoring. provides important insights for authorities implement interventions protection Zone.

Wastewater containing a mixture of heavy metals, byproduct chemical, petrochemical, and refinery activities driven by urbanization industrial expansion, poses significant environmental threats. Analyzing such wastewater through adsorbate-adsorbent experiments yields extensive datasets. However, traditional methodologies like the Box–Behnken design (BBD) within response surface methodology (RSM) struggle with managing large datasets capturing complex, nonlinear relationships inherent in experimental data. To address these challenges, ML techniques have emerged as promising tools for accurately predicting removal percentage metals from wastewater. In this study, we utilized tree-based regression models—specifically decision tree (DTR), random forest (RFR), extra (ETR)—to forecast efficiency gooseberry seed powder removing chromium (Cr(VI)) Additionally, employed an ML-based Nelder–Mead optimization approach to identify optimal values key features (initial Cr(VI) concentration, pH, Indian dosage) which maximized percentage. Our results reveal that ETR model achieved impressive R2 score 0.99, demonstrating low error rate Furthermore, used DTR-Nelder–Mead, RFR-Nelder–Mead, ETR-Nelder–Mead approaches on synthesized dataset 2000 instances while varying initial dosage. The analysis determined DTR-Nelder–Mead RFR-Nelder–Mead yielded highest percentages 78.21% 78.107% at concentration 95.55 mg/L, respectively, pH level four, adsorbent dosage 8 g/L powder. obtained maximum 85.11% 99.25 4.97, 9.62 These reported increase ranging 4.66% 11.56% more than experimentation. findings underscore efficacy models elucidating processes wastewater, offering valuable insights into effective treatment strategies.
