Climate change stands out as an especially pressing global concern. The aim of the present study was to explore whether climate worry decreases during armed conflicts, using two time-points: before and conflict. Guided by Transactional Theory Stress Coping (TTSC), we examined interplay between risk appraisal, pro-environmental behaviors (PEBs), worry. A sample 202 Israeli adults participated in waves data collection, completing self-report measures addressing worry, PEBs. Results revealed a significant decline appraisal conflict, whereas PEBs remained unchanged. Contrary expectations, associations PEBs, did not weaken Mediation analyses indicated that led which subsequently contributed However, this mediation effect partial, with most association remaining direct. These findings imply psychological impact conflict may temporarily overshadow environmental concerns, emphasizing need for strategies maintain awareness behavior even

Climate change worry is an increasingly critical issue in eco-psychology literature. A commonly used instrument for measuring this construct the Change Worry Scale (CCWS), developed by Stewart. This Likert-type scale assesses individuals' climate through 10 items clustered under a single factor. It has been adapted multiple cultures and utilized numerous studies conducted across various countries. Nevertheless, no study synthesized reliability values obtained from individual scale. The purpose of current meta-analysis was to perform generalization CCWS. To end, exhaustive literature search July 14 November 17, 2024, EBSCO, ERIC, Taylor & Francis, PubMed, Web Science databases, as well Google Scholar, using keyword “Climate Scale.” After scrutinizing identified duplicates applying inclusion exclusion criteria, research focused on 40 Cronbach's alpha coefficients acquired 37 papers. results analysis, which involved running random effects model Bonnet transformation, indicated that pooled 0.932 (95% CI = 0.919–0.942). moderator analysis revealed sample descriptors characteristics included did not significantly affect estimates. Accordingly, CCWS found be produces highly reliable measurements regardless factors such region, language, participants' age, total number answered during administration. Finally, induction rate determined 29.41%. However, high heterogeneity observed among estimates primary exposed limitations generalizing scores different populations conditions. situation also emphasized importance providing detailed information about scale's demographics administration conditions when reporting reliability.
