Abstract
Understanding
how
continental
radiations
are
assembled
across
space
and
time
is
a
major
question
in
macroevolutionary
biology.
Here,
we
use
phylogenomic-scale
phylogeny,
comprehensive
morphological
dataset,
environmental
niche
models
to
evaluate
the
relationship
between
trait
environment
assess
role
of
geography
conservatism
radiation
Australian
blindsnakes.
The
Australo-Papuan
blindsnake
genus,
Anilios,
comprises
47
described
species
which
46
endemic
distributed
various
biomes
on
Australia.
Although
expected
blindsnakes
be
morphologically
conserved,
found
considerable
interspecific
variation
all
traits
measured.
Absolute
body
length
negatively
correlated
with
mean
annual
temperature,
shape
ratios
soil
compactness.

Conservation
