Cancer is a leading cause of disease burden globally, with more than 19·3 million cases and 10 deaths recorded in 2020. Research crucial to understanding the determinants cancer effects interventions, improving outcomes. We aimed analyse global patterns public philanthropic investment research. In this content analysis, we searched UberResearch Dimensions database UK data for human research funding awards from funders between Jan 1, 2016, Dec 31, Included award types were project programme grants, fellowships, pump priming, pilot projects. Awards focused on operational delivery care excluded. categorised by type, cross-cutting theme, phase. Funding amount was compared specific cancers, measured disability-adjusted life-years, years lived disability, mortality using Global Burden Disease study. We identified 66 388 total about US$24·5 billion 2016-20. Investment decreased year-on-year, largest drop observed 2019 Pre-clinical received 73·5% across 5 ($18 billion), phase 1-4 clinical trials 7·4% ($1·8 health 9·4% ($2·3 cross-disciplinary 5·0% ($1·2 billion). General ($7·1 billion, 29·2% funding). The most highly funded breast ($2·7 [11·2%]), haematological [9·4%]), brain ($1·3 [5·5%]). Analysis theme revealed that 41·2% ($9·6 billion) went biology research, 19·6% ($4·6 drug treatment 12·1% ($2·8 immuno-oncology. 1·4% ($0·3 spent surgery 2·8% ($0·7 radiotherapy 0·5% ($0·1 studies.Cancer must be aligned equitable low-income middle-income countries (which account 80% burden), both support relevant these settings, build capacity within countries. Financial toxicity, defined as both the objective financial burden and subjective distress from a cancer diagnosis its treatment, is topic of interest in assessment quality life patients with their families. Current evidence implicates toxicity psychosocial, economic other harms, leading to suboptimal outcomes along entire trajectory diagnosis, supportive care, survivorship palliation. Cancer nursing has evolved to meet the demands of rising cancer incidence, newer and more complex treatment options, emergence specialist roles supporting patients from pre-diagnosis, through treatment, survivorship end life care. Nurses are involved in direct in-direct care people at risk of, living with after diverse contexts. As a result, nurses positioned have significant influence on processes outcomes care, education, research, policy, practice leadership. However, face challenges, arising workforce shortages, under-investment services under-representation decision-making. This paper discusses evolution across profession practice, sets an agenda for innovation disruption these domains ensure sustainability cancer. We argue continued advancement critical focus identifying addressing inequities role recognition access education throughout Europe. Abstract Cardiovascular diseases and cancer are the leading causes of death in Western world share common risk factors. Reduced cardiorespiratory fitness (CRF) is a major determinant cardiovascular morbidity survival. In this review we discuss cancer- induced disturbances parenchymal, cellular, mitochondrial function, which limit CRF may be antagonized attenuated through exercise training. We show impact on survival its attenuating effects cardiotoxicity cancer-related treatment. Tailored programs not yet available for each tumor entity as several trials were performed heterogeneous populations without adequate cardiopulmonary testing (CPET) prior to prescription with wide variation modalities. There emerging evidence that crucial pillar treatment tool mitigate cardiotoxic effects. modalities aerobic resistance training their potential improve patients provide an example periodization model cancer.

Abstract Aims With the recently validated tool for estimating chronic pain after colorectal cancer surgery, aims of this study were to calculate prevalence and identify predictive risk factors treatment. Method Clinical data from patients treated between 2001 2014 obtained Danish Colorectal Cancer Group database. In 2016, all survivors invited participate in a national cross‐sectional questionnaire on long‐term functional outcomes, including questionnaire. The was analysed groups based demographic treatment‐related factors. Multivariate logistic regression analysis performed determine significant predictors pain, displayed as odds ratios (OR) 95% confidence intervals. Results response rate 63.8%, representing 11 600 (7127 colon 4473 rectal patients). overall 41.5%, with 15.4% having major pain. Major more prevalent than (16.7% vs. 14.5%, p < 0.001). Predictors were: young age <60 years [OR 1.7 (95% CI 1.51–1.91)]; female sex 1.63 1.46–1.82)]; an open surgical approach 1.18 1.05–1.33)]; chemotherapy 1.32 1.18–1.49)]; radiotherapy 1.39 1.17–1.65)]; permanent stoma [1.56 1.31–1.86)]; comorbidity 1.69 1.5–1.9)]; anastomotic leakage 1.31 1.05–1.64)]. Conclusion Chronic is surgery. All should be informed about risks before treatment, particularly those who are at increased developing

ABSTRACT Background Male breast cancer (MBC) is rare and often treated using evidence from female (BC) trials due to limited male participation. Previous estimates lacked global coverage completeness. We aimed quantify the MBC burden 1990 2021 evaluate its current status trends. Methods Based on of disease (GBD) database, we gathered analyzed data incidence, death, disability‐adjusted life years (DALYs) while utilizing age‐standardized rates (ASRs) as indicators for these measurements. Our study calculated estimated annual percentage change (EAPC), aiming at measuring average in ASRs. Additionally, evaluated attributable risk factors (RFs) trends across different regions age groups worldwide. Results In 2021, incidence (ASIR), death (ASDR), DALY (ASDALY) per 100,000 persons were 0.941 (95% UI, 0.605–1.155), 0.335 0.232–0.409), 9.157 6.116–11.423), respectively. comparison 1990, have increased by 2.212 2.047–2.378), 0.664 0.562–0.767), 0.853 0.750–0.956) Uganda ASIR ASDR highest 4.541 3.028–6.808) 3.510 2.301–5.195) persons, Moreover, exhibited an increase with age. Globally, dietary was most important RF deaths, a 11.690% −0.003%–24.838%), followed alcohol use tobacco. Conclusion From ASIR, ASDR, ASDALY shown significant disparities increasing trend. Committing healthy lifestyle choices, such decreasing tobacco consumption making positive changes habits, can assist reducing risk. The development execution robust effective public health policies are crucial alleviating burden.
