Non-stimulant atomoxetine is recognized in various current clinical guidelines as an important alternative to stimulants for the pharmacological treatment of attention deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) children. While its efficacy and tolerability core symptoms are established, there considerable inter-individual variability response exposure, highlighting need personalized dosing. In this review, we evaluated existing studies summarized comprehensive evidence supporting implementation therapeutic drug monitoring (TDM) dosing atomoxetine, organized around a series logically structured questions. Although notable gaps achieving across multiple critical elements, available helpful endorse dose adjustments based on TDM

ABSTRACT Objective This review maps existing literature on the prevalence of autism and ADHD in adult patients with Bulimia Nervosa (BN) Binge Eating Disorder (BED); patient stakeholder perspectives this comorbidity; clinical differences population; potential treatment adaptations or adjunct therapies. is aim to inform future research priorities improve practice. Method As pre‐registered, following PRISMA guidelines, six databases (Embase, MEDLINE via Ovid, PsycINFO, Web Science, CENTRAL, Scopus) were searched for studies regarding and/or (diagnosed, probable, traits) BN BED. Screening data extraction conducted twice independently each record. Results Twenty‐nine included, 25,416 participants, mostly women (69.3%). Thirteen suggested are more common BED than non‐ED populations. One study explored expert BED, while 15 considered options, mainly medications. Conclusion highlights a need experiences, differences, non‐medical options Autistic/ADHD Findings suggest these conditions commonly co‐occur but remain under‐explored terms patient‐centred interventions outcomes.

Attention Deficit-Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) and Posttraumatic Stress (PTSD) are often comorbid share a common core of symptoms. However, sex gender-related factors significantly influence their prevalence, clinical presentation, diagnosis. Here, we conducted systematic literature review meta-analysis to examine differences in ADHD/PTSD comorbidity during childhood adulthood. A scoping PsycINFO PubMed yielded 13 eligible studies with complete outcome data. We fixed-effects meta-analyses the sex-stratified prevalence using pooled odds ratios (OR) 95% confidence interval (CI). Fixed-effects subgroup analyses were performed age as subgroup. Effect size heterogeneity was assessed I 2 index Cochran's Q test. In whole sample (N= 13,585; F= 7005, M= 6580), diagnosis higher females than males (OR = 1.32, p 0.02). Between-study low-to-moderate not significant (I 41%; 0.06), validating model. Age-stratified revealed compared only adult populations (OR=1.41; 0.01). Additionally, more likely be diagnosed both disorders where ADHD primary 1.60; 0.002), employing structured interviews diagnostic tools 1.46; 0.009). Our study is first show that association between PTSD stronger females, suggesting may increase risk for sex-specific manner.

Abstract Neurodivergent youth often experience anxiety and depressive symptoms that may hamper adaptive functioning well-being. There is little knowledge of how depression are related in neurodivergent youth. Therefore, we aimed to examine whether the relationship between uni- or bidirectional neurodiverse We assessed self-reported over time 173 ( M baseline age = 11.7 years, SD 2.1, 64% males, 36% females). The sample comprised 38 autistic youth, 85 diagnosed with attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), 50 comparison at (T1), 2-year follow-up (T2, 97% retention), 10-year (T3, 73% retention). used cross-lagged models analyze data. Objective: Stimulant medications are the primary pharmacological intervention for ADHD, yet our understanding of how sex and gender impact stimulant treatment outcomes remains limited. Clinical guidelines do not differ female male individuals despite possible gender-related differences in effectiveness, adverse events, pharmacokinetics. This theoretical framework identifies five key knowledge gaps relating to effects treatment. Method: We investigate trajectories girls women with ADHD from diagnosis prescription daily use outcomes. examine reproductive life transitions hormonal fluctuations their interactions socialization gendered expectations on stigma, adherence. Results: By synthesizing existing literature, proposing testable predictions, suggesting future research directions, we highlight urgent need studies that systematically these factors. Conclusion: Addressing could significantly improve particularly during biological role transitions.

Attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) is a neurological generally experienced as challenging, it impacts multiple aspects of an individual’s life. There significant gap in the literature surrounding ADHD adults, including experiences stigma and social inclusion from perspective people with ADHD. This study aimed to explore perceptions amongst sample university students living Ireland. Nine semi-structured interviews were conducted seven participants (four men three women), two follow-up interviews. The all official diagnosis Data analysed using descriptive interpretive method Constant Comparison Analysis. In total, sixteen categories (themes) extracted classified into five overarching domains: informational access, access healthcare, attitudinal inclusion, academic accommodations. findings indicated that adversely affects students’ experience inclusion. Barriers effective negative attitudes towards ADHD, misinformation/lack information highlighted risk factors for feelings exclusion. Universities should include disabilities when designing policies provide accommodations support them. Additionally, greater awareness imperative improving

Abstract Background Autism and attention‐deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) overlap to a considerable degree have been associated with mental health difficulties, yet there is limited research on this relationship. Young adulthood time of heightened risk for problems in general. The may be greater individuals these conditions, whom societal demands tied transitional heighten the impact internalising behaviours.
