Prediabetes, a state between normoglycemia and diabetes, is increasingly affecting population health; thus, it should not be overlooked. This systematic review meta-analysis aimed to explore the efficacy of aerobic exercise on blood glucose indicators among those with prediabetes. Five databases, including PubMed, Embase, Cochrane Library, Web Science, CINAHL, were searched up September 2024 identify randomized controlled trials measuring effect levels individuals Data fasting (FBG), 2-h postprandial plasma (2hPG), hemoglobin A1c (HbA1c) extracted. Subgroup analyses conducted based intervention duration, weekly volume. In total, 2518 relevant records initially retrieved, 16 studies included in this review, 14 providing sufficient data for meta-analysis. Compared control group, weighted mean difference (MD) FBG, 2hPG, HbA1c was −1.33 (95%CI: −1.87, −0.89), −1.00 −1.60, −0.39), −1.05 −1.49, −0.61), respectively. analysis showed that pooled size greater subgroup subjected ≥48 weeks compared ≤24 intervention, although only FBG significant (p < 0.05). Weekly longer than 180 min/week led reductions shorter 150 min/week, differences 2hPG > Total 1314–1323 MET·min/week 975–1080 Aerobic effectively decreases controls levels. The volume duration are important factors reduction levels, exhibiting positive correlation within specific range. can serve as viable therapeutic approach reducing risk diabetes

This study aimed to investigate the associations between chrononutrition profile, social jet lag (SJL) with obesity-related indicators (body mass index (BMI), waist circumference (WC), waist-to-height ratio (WHTR), and percentage of body fat (PBF)). cross-sectional was conducted among college students in a university Hunan Province, China, from 14 September 2023 8 June 2024. employed Chrononutrition Profile – Questionnaire (CP-Q) along physical examinations. SJL defined as time difference midpoint sleep workdays freedays. Sleep-corrected (SJLsc) is absolute onset on free days workdays. Average evening latency last meal day bedtime. Eating eating window Logistic regression utilized assess SJL, students. A total 805 participants were recruited, which 695 have complete data after excluding those who did not meet inclusion criteria. After adjusting for potential covariates, average <4 h related lower risk high BMI, WC, PBF [OR (95% CI) = 0.435 (0.285–0.663), 0.508 (0.305–0.848), 0.564 (0.402–0.792), respectively]. >12 associated 0.511 (0.327–0.800), 0.485 (0.277–0.851), 0.651 (0.456–0.930), Last occasion >1 higher 1.554 (1.018–2.371)]. SJLsc > 1 1.527 (1.073–2.174)]. Circadian rhythm disruptions, including lag, are prevalent Long window, short latency, low obesity, while duration, larger obesity youths.

Overweight and obesity are linked to mitochondrial alterations, impaired glucose tolerance a high risk of type 2 diabetes. Time-restricted eating (TRE) may aid in facilitating weight loss prevent Here, we investigated if TRE individuals with overweight prediabetes or affects bioenergetics peripheral blood mononuclear cells (PBMCs) platelets using the Seahorse extracellular flux technology. In 3-month randomized controlled trial, PBMCs/platelets were analyzed from 52 participants before after intervention 10-h window habitual living. PBMC platelet respiratory function was evaluated through sequential addition substrates, uncouplers, inhibitors living cells. After 3 months, there no statistically significant differences respiration within between control groups. Association analyses PBMC/platelet clinical parameters including body mass index fat showed effects. conclusion, months does not alter PBMCs

Abstract The circadian clock is a transcriptional-translational feedback loop which oscillates in virtually all nucleated cells of the body. In decades since its discovery, it has become evident that molecular clockwork inextricably linked to energy metabolism. Given frequency with metabolic dysfunction and disruption co-occur, understanding why how processes are reciprocally coupled will have important implications for supporting human health wellbeing. Here, we discuss relevance function tissues explore role not only as driver day-night variation gene expression, but key mechanism maintaining homeostasis face fluctuating supply demand.

Most aspects of physiology and behaviour fluctuate every 24 h in mammals. These circadian rhythms are orchestrated by an autonomous central clock located the suprachiasmatic nuclei that coordinates timing cellular clocks tissues throughout body. The critical role this system is emphasized increasing evidence associating disruption with diverse pathologies. Accordingly, mounting suggests a bidirectional relationship where misalignment may contribute to liver diseases while alter other tissues. Therefore, pathophysiology broadly impact provide mechanistic framework for understanding targeting metabolic adjust setpoints.

Abstract Anti‐obesity medications have reached new heights in terms of efficacy, with presently available pharmacological options almost reaching the efficacy surgical techniques, and thus these are starting to fill treatment void. Because increased weight loss benefits on a host obesity complications being reported, prevention diabetes, reduction liver cardiovascular improvements osteoarthritis among prominent features. On other hand, present anti‐obesity strategies also lead lean bone mass, while consequences hereof only beginning present, they highly likely be importance target population that contains large number elderly potentially frail individuals. Therefore, there is need address issue quality, both context existing possibilities, but especially myriad novel horizon.

Time-restricted eating (TRE) shows promise for managing weight and metabolic issues, yet its application in real-world healthcare settings remains underexplored. This study aims to assess the utilisation short-term outcomes of TRE clinical practice. observational used a retrospective chart review 271 adults who attended specialist clinic between 2019 2023. Descriptive statistics multivariable logistic regression were identify factors associated with adoption, while paired sample Among patients, 76% female, 90% Caucasian, 94% overweight/obese. Of all 47.2% received advice, mainly using 16:8 method, alongside additional dietary guidance 60% patients. Working status baseline profiles only significantly adoption. those followed TRE, 81% experienced modest but significant reductions (-1.2 kg, highlights as feasible practical strategy improving health settings. However, further research improved data capture are needed explore long-term adherence, potential adverse effects, effectiveness across diverse patient populations.

Abstract It has been recognized for over a century that feeding animals less food than they would normally eat increases lifespan and leads to broad-spectrum improvements in age-related health. A significant number of studies have subsequently shown restricting total protein, branched chain amino acids or individual the diet, as well ketogenic diets, can elicit similar effects. In addition, it is becoming clear fasting protocols, such time-restricted-feeding every-other-day feeding, without changes overall energy intake also profoundly affect rodent longevity late-life this review, I will provide historical perspective on various dietary interventions modulate ageing rodents discuss how understanding exposome may help identify future strategies maintain health wellbeing humans.
