Prior studies on behaviours have largely ignored context characteristics (physical, social) and time. We investigated patterns in physical over time across situations, as well sociodemographic variation herein. Methods: employed data from five rounds of a cohort study conducted throughout the pandemic by Dutch public health institute (RIVM; N≈50.000 per round). Latent Class Analyses (LCAs) to investigate range followed regression models associations between behaviour characteristics. Results: Participants differed their general tendency adhere guidelines but there were also substantial differences particularly at work, with friends family outdoors. Distancing work was strongly associated environment Younger age groups reported less behaviour, close relations (friends or family) work. In periods when situation most severe, people adhered more age-differences pronounced these periods. Conclusion: social matters for distancing, highlighting importance developing strategies preparedness that improve opportunities (e.g., reducing crowding, 1-way traffic) accommodate young safely meet even times high severity lockdowns. Future should account which observed.
