BACKGROUND Loneliness is a negative emotional state which common in later life. The accumulative effects of loneliness have significant impact on physical and mental health older adults. Automatic methods for detection prediction are an emerging field to support early identification loneliness. OBJECTIVE We aim qualitatively explore the thoughts preferences people aged 65 over regarding technologies detect feelings METHODS conducted 60 semi-structured interviews with between September 2022 August 2023. Data were analysed using reflective thematic approach NVIVO software. RESULTS Three themes identified representing what adults considered important system able 1) Interest Control Data, was priority adults; 2) Perceived Usefulness Address Loneliness, related importance providing recommendations reduce after detection; 3) Personalisation as Priority, included level alert sent selection relevant individuals who would be alert. CONCLUSIONS Findings from this in-depth qualitative study provide perspectives lived-experience context sensor-based most useful acceptable Future research will include such design innovative enabling access timely interventions tackle CLINICALTRIAL
