The study investigates the antecedents that influence social distancing behavior during COVID-19 outbreak and develops a hypothetical model integrating additional pertinent variables into classic theory of planned (TPB) to grasp accurately. extended was investigated employing structural equation modeling using data collected through Snowball Technology from 331 respondents. results unearth significant influences all predictor on their outcome variables. Surprisingly, supportive government strategy has no crucial impact perceived behavioral control toward distancing. Furthermore, reports trivial difference between young old high-low income groups intention-actual outlines policy interventions prevent mass transmission catastrophe. Lastly, limitations are specified open up novel insights for future researchers.

Although COVID-19 brought many negative psychological consequences, people also experienced growth. The present study investigated why this happened and hypothesized that self-determination theory’s (SDT’s) basic needs (BPNs) may play a role in explanation. Based on SDT, cross-sectional both the satisfaction frustration of BPNs mediated associations between fear COVID-19, post-traumatic growth (PTG), stress (PTS) symptoms. We conducted comparative analysis two densely populated neighbourhoods Barcelona, Spain, employing participatory mixed‐methods approach including surveys, focus groups, walks semi‐structured interviews. collected from residents for pre‐pandemic period, lockdown period during post‐lockdown gradual ease restrictions. Our findings reveal lockdown, neighbourhood PGBS was maintained or intensified, highlighting existing deficit denser areas city. However, post‐lockdown, patterns changed, with differences based characteristics gentrification pressures. This suggests while seemed to temporarily impact people used PGBS, these changes were rapidly reversed once mobility lifted. During after pandemic, facilitated informal care networks community cohesion helped endure impacts but return touristification pressures disrupted networks, heightening feelings displacement exclusion among research underscores dual role as both essential sites exclusion, emphasizing need inclusive just planning strategies. Policy implications . Urban must prioritize quality accessibility gender‐sensitive address broader issues protect vulnerable populations. Despite the devastating impacts of COVID-19 pandemic, it provided opportunity to investigate factors associated with compliance public health measures that could inform responses future pandemics. We analysed cross-country data (k = 121, N 15,740) collected one year into pandemic related guidelines. These include social norms, moral values, trust, stress, and demographic factors. found norms follow preventive were positively correlated local prevention Compliance was also predicted by concern about value harm care, trust in government scientific community, Finally, we discuss country-level differences associations between predictors compliance.
