Enzymatic catalysis has fueled considerable interest from chemists due to its high efficiency and selectivity. However, the structural complexity vulnerability hamper application potentials of enzymes. Driven by practical demand for chemical conversion, there is a long-sought quest bioinspired catalysts reproducing even surpassing functions natural As nanoporous materials with surface areas crystallinity, metal-organic frameworks (MOFs) represent an exquisite case how enzymes their active sites are integrated into porous solids, affording heterogeneous superior stability customizable structures. Multicharged cyclodextrin (CD) supramolecular assemblies, including those based on positively/negatively charged modified mono-6-deoxy-CDs, per-6-deoxy-CDs, and random 2,3,6-deoxy-CDs, as well parent CDs binding guests, have been extensively applied in chemistry, materials science, medicine, biological catalysis, other fields. In this review, we primarily focus summarizing the recent advances encapsulating especially construction process of assemblies their applications. Compared with uncharged CDs, multicharged display remarkably high antiviral antibacterial activity efficient protein fibrosis inhibition. Meanwhile, can interact oppositely dyes, drugs, polymers, biomacromolecules to achieve effective encapsulation aggregation. ConspectusHyaluronic acid (HA), which contains multiple carboxyl, hydroxyl, and acetylamino groups is an agent that targets tumors, has drawn great attention in supramolecular diagnosis treatment research. It can not only assemble directly with macrocyclic host–guest complexes through hydrogen bonding electrostatic interactions but also be modified compounds or functional guest molecules by amidation reaction used for further assembly. Macrocycles play a main role the construction of drug carriers, targeted imaging agents, hydrogels, such as cyclodextrins cucurbit[n]urils, encapsulate photosensitizers, drugs, other via interactions. Therefore, formed assemblies respond to various stimuli, enzymes, light, electricity, magnetism controlled delivery, enhance luminescence intensity assembly, improve loading capacity. In addition, nanosupramolecular assembly HA biocompatibility reduce toxicity side effects, cell permeability; thus, extensive application value biomedical This Account mainly focuses on based HA, especially their biological applications progress field, these include (i) guest-modified pyridinium-, adamantane-, peptide-, functional-group-modified along cyclodextrin cucurbit[n]uril assemblies; (ii) macrocycle-modified derivatives guests; (iii) direct between unmodified cyclodextrin- cucurbit[n]uril-based complexes. Three achiral polycyclic aromatic fluorophores─namely, 1-pyrenecarboxylic acid, 9-anthracenecarboxylic and perylene-3,9-dicarboxylic acid─were chosen based on their desired properties before being incorporated into the construction of a K+-carrying gamma-cyclodextrin (γ-CD)-based metal–organic framework (CD-MOF-1) γ-CD-containing hybrid frameworks (CD-HFs). Among these fluorophores, only pyrene-carrying one shows significant noncovalent bonding interactions with γ-CD in solution. This fluorophore is encapsulated CD-HF trigonal superstructure instead common cubic CD-MOF-1 found case other two fluorophores. Single-crystal X-ray diffraction analysis reveals π-stacked chiral positioning inside (γ-CD)2 tunnels held uniformly around an enantiomorphous 32 screw axis along c direction solid-state structure. helix-like structure demonstrates additional level chirality over above point-chiral stereogenic centers axial associated self-assembled These arrangements result specifically generated photophysical chiroptical properties, such as controlled emergence circularly polarized luminescence (CPL) emission. Limited by preparation time and ligand solubility, synthetic protocols for cyclodextrin-based metal-organic framework (CD-MOF), as well subsequent derived materials with improved stability properties, still remains a challenge. Herein, an ultrafast, environmentally friendly, cost-effective microwave method is proposed, which induced graphene oxide (GO) to design CD-MOF/GOs. This applicable technique can control the crystal size of CD-MOFs from macro- nanocrystals. CD-MOF/GOs are investigated new type supramolecular adsorbent. It selectively adsorb dye molecule methylene green (MG) owing synergistic effect between hydrophobic nanocavity CDs, abundant O-containing functional groups GO in composites. Following high temperature calcination, resulting N, S co-doped porous carbons exhibit capacitance 501 F g-1 at 0.5 A , stable cycling 90.1% capacity retention after 5000 cycles.
