Abstract A series of 3d–4f heterometallic complexes, namely [Ln 2 Co (2,3‐DCB) 10 (phen) ] [Ln=Nd ( 1 ), Sm Eu 3 Gd 4 Tb 5 Dy 6 Er 7 )], were obtained through the self‐assembly reactions Ln(NO ) ⋅ n H O, Co(NO 6H 2,3‐dichlorobenzoic acid (2,3‐HDCB), NaOH and 1,10‐phenanthroline under solvothermal conditions. Their crystal structures determined by single‐crystal X‐ray diffraction. They also characterized elemental analysis, FT‐IR, powder diffraction (PXRD) thermogravimetric analysis (TGA) differential thermoanalysis (DTA). These seven complexes have same molecular formula but different structures. Complexes – , as well are crystallographically isomorphous, respectively. all exhibit zero‐dimensional (0D) linear tetranuclear cluster 0D clusters can be further connected into a two‐dimensional (2D) supramolecular network via extensive intermolecular π–π interactions between 2,3‐DCB phen. The photoluminescent properties magnetic investigated. Complex shows slow relaxation behavior.

Donor-acceptor (D-A) hybrid frameworks with visual X-ray photochromism at room temperature are fascinating because of their promising applications as detectors. Herein, a 3-fold interpenetrated D-A framework, [Eu(bcbp)1.5(DMF)(H2O)2][Co(CN)6]·4H2O·CH3OH (1), has been obtained by incorporating electron-rich Co(CN)63- into the electron-deficient europium viologen which interestingly exhibits ultraviolet and low-power dual remarkable color change from brown to green. Experimental theoretical studies revealed that photochromic behavior 1 could be attributed its structural feature increasing extent photoinduced electron transfer thus photogenerated radical species upon irradiation. Meanwhile, due introduction emissive lanthanide cations in system, photomodulated luminescence properties.

The encapsulation of various guest molecules into the pores metal-organic frameworks (MOFs) to form hybrid materials has attracted significant attention due their unique spatial distribution and certain preferential geometry guests inside MOFs. This arrangement often results in exhibiting physical chemical properties intramolecular interactions with host. In this article, five viologen derivatives were introduced as a Zn-MOF different benzene ring lengths, resulting formation host-guest three-dimensional (3D) compounds exhibited guest-dependent emission wavelength, color, excellent photochromic behavior upon ultraviolet (UV) light radiation distinct electronic transfer π···π stacking between host framework. study provides strategy for designing color-tunable luminescent highly sensitive materials.

This study reports the synthesis and characterization of two solvatochromic pentacyanoferrate(II) complexes. Their structural design incorporates ligands with flexible xylylene bridges distinct heterocycles—one combining 4-dimethylaminopyridine (DMAP) 4,4′-bipyridine, other isoquinoline 4,4′-bipyridine. diversity enables complexes to engage in a broad range solvent–solute interactions, providing valuable insights into behavior solvents media regard polarity, through sizable shifts. solvatochromism is examined using set nine solvent mixtures. To advance the structural development and fully explore application potential, it is highly desirable but challenging to elucidate relationship between structures properties of ZnII-LnIII heterometallic species. Herein, three types compounds (LnIII = GdIII, TbIII) formulated as [Zn16Ln4L12(μ3-O)4(NO3)12]·8CH3CN (ZnLn-1), [Zn2Ln2L2(NO3)6(H2O)2]·3CH3CN (ZnLn-2), [Zn4Ln2L8(OAc)12]·xCH3CN (ZnLn-3: for Ln Gd, x 5; Tb, 4) were dictated by common inorganic anions, NO3- OAc-, with aid multidentate ligand H2L propane central skeleton 3-methoxysalicylamide 3-methoxysalicylaldimine terminal groups. ZnLn-1 features cubic cages four {Zn4L3} tetrahedral subunits Ln3+ centers positioned at eight vertices alternately when was introduced into reaction system exclusively. An attempt replace in OAc- partially led formation {Zn2Ln2L2} wheels. Meanwhile, ZnLn-3 featuring double-hairpin-like {Zn4Ln2L4} hemicycles that are orthogonal each other assisted intermolecular hydrogen bonds constructed completely replaced OAc-. Their integrity solution ascertained both emission 1H NMR spectroscopy. Ascribed different Zn2+-containing antenna, ZnTb-2 possesses a relatively strong characteristic Tb3+; ZnTb-1 has moderate Tb3+ luminescence, yet an absence found ZnTb-3. Such difference could be mainly attributed antenna effect directed distinct characteristics induced anions.
