In
this
study,
we
present
a
novel
class
of
lead-free
hybrid
antimony
halides
incorporating
the
acetamidinium
cation,
with
chemical
compositions:
(CH3C(NH2)2)3[Sb2Cl9]
(ACA),
(CH3C(NH2)2)3[Sb2Br9]
(ABA),
and
(CH3C(NH2)2)3[Sb2I9]
(AIA)
.
Despite
their
seemingly
analogous
formulations,
these
compounds
exhibit
diverse
physical
characteristics,
predominantly
dictated
by
differences
in
metal-halide
architectures.
Indeed,
anionic
frameworks
ACA
AIA
are
reminiscent
well-known
ferroelectric
materials,
distinguished
its
piezoelectric
ferroelastic
underpinned
buckled
honeycomb
two-dimensional
(2D)
layers
chloride.
Conversely,
is
characterized
attribute,
discrete
bioctahedral
units
forming
zero-dimensional
(0D)
structure.
A
surprising
structural
deviation
constitutes
sublattice
ABA,
which
amalgamates
features
from
both
AIA,
yielding
an
unprecedented
two-component
(0D
+
2D)
architecture.
The
properties
have
been
demonstrated
through
pyroelectric
current
measurements
hysteresis
loop
analyses.
Additionally,
noncentrosymmetric
nature
has
corroborated
second
harmonic
generation
experiments.
piezoelectricity
was
confirmed
using
piezoresponse
force
microscopy
(PFM).
Furthermore,
observations
under
polarizing
microscope
revealed
distinct
well-defined
abundant
star
patterns
previously
observed
only
simple
oxides
alloys.
