The cessation of marine hydrate exploitation in the Nankai Trough resulted from severe sand production challenges. Currently, mechanisms underlying during reservoir lack comprehensive understanding. To address this knowledge gap, we developed a COMSOL-based computer model to predict gas and for exploitation, which efficiently integrated with convectional thermo-hydro-mechanical coupling model. In model, detachment skeletal particles sediments is regulated by both fluid erosion shear deformation. Specifically, when hydraulic gradient exceeds certain critical value meanwhile deformation also occurs, will detach migrate flowing fluids. Based on numerically simulated 2013 field test, conducted systematic analysis about mechanism. Our numerical simulations showed: (1) For weakly cemented sand-dominated sediments, moderate (>5) could potentially trigger particle detachment. Within 6-day test duration, cumulative volume reached 1.17 × 105 m3 26.9 generated, exhibiting striking alignment measured data, mere 3% deviation; (2) Due weak mechanical strength, overburden experienced more obvious than other areas, which, together its high gradient, led heightened Thus, provided main source production; (3) Both small depressurization amplitude low permeability tend accordingly constitute unfavorable conditions production. negative correlation well explains why occurred rather Shenhu area where have extremely permeability.
