Summary The pressure pulse decay (PPD) method is widely used for measuring permeability in tight porous media. However, it can overestimate the of salt rocks to hydrogen due gas leakage at rock-sleeve interface, caused by hydrogen’s high diffusivity. In addition this, time-consuming, particularly materials such as rocks, and error measurements be 60%, making less reliable accurate assessments. We present a modified experimental setup analytical approach fast more determination porosity with hydrogen. Our results demonstrate that this configuration significantly improves accuracy least 10 times reduces duration experiments 4 compared conventional PPD method. validated our methodology through on rock samples sourced from Lotsberg Formation (LSF) Fort Saskatchewan, Alberta, Canada.
