Abstract Municipal and industrial wastewater effluent is an important source of water for lotic systems, especially during periods low flow. The accumulated flows—expressed as a percentage total streamflow (ACCWW%)—contain chemical mixtures that pose risk to aquatic life; fish may be particularly vulnerable when chronically exposed. Although there has been considerable focus on individual-level effects exposure found in effluent, scaling up population-level remains challenging component needed better understand the potential consequences wild populations. This under changing climate which reuse could essential maintain river flows. We evaluated chronic measured by ACCWW%, relative abundance young-of-year (YOY), juvenile, adult smallmouth bass (Micropterus dolomieu) populations Shenandoah River Watershed (USA). increases ACCWW% previous year prespawn period were negatively correlated with YOY, resulting average 41% predicted decrease (range = 0.5%–94% abundance). lagged effect suggests reproductive performance compromised high ACCWW%. No relationships between juvenile or found, suggesting negative YOY offset due compensatory mechanisms following higher exposure. Understanding at multiple levels biological organization will help development management strategies aimed protecting life. Environ Toxicol Chem 2024;43:1138–1148. © 2024 Authors. Abstract A wastewater model was applied to the Potomac River watershed provide (i) a means identify streams with high likelihood of carrying elevated effluent‐derived contaminants and (ii) risk assessments aquatic life drinking water. The linked effluent discharges along stream networks, accumulated wastewater, predicted contaminant loads municipal constituents while accounting for instream dilution attenuation. Simulations using 2016 data suggested that nearly 30% (8281 km) were impacted. Low‐ medium‐order had largest range (ACCWW%) values. ACCWW% exceeded 1% threshold at >39% drinking‐water intakes (varied by temporal condition). Risk wastewater‐contaminant mixtures indicated 22% (1479 impacted (5.5% all reaches modeled) may pose organisms under mean‐annual conditions, fish more susceptible chronic‐exposure effects relative other taxa. varied temporally order, greatest occurring in summer small streams. These findings suggest be an important factor contributing environmental degradation watershed.

Taking the domestic waste reverse logistics network in Hefei as research object, considering multi frequency recycling and vehicle sharing scheduling strategy, a optimization scheme based on operation cost of is proposed.Firstly, model constructed, which includes construction infrastructure, equipment maintenance cost, sum transportation municipal solid treatment non-recyclable at all levels, product maximization revenue center established.Secondly, according to characteristics model, k-means spatio-temporal clustering algorithm geographical location transfer stations, time window designed, then an improved GA-PSO hybrid proposed. The effectiveness verified by comparing with HGA, GA-TS HACO algorithms. Finally, actual data network, was carried out, stations different locations were analyzed. The results show that proposed this paper can carry out optimal selection resource vehicles reasonable routing scheduling, reduced 8% compared previous one; As distance reduced, greatly efficiency improved.
