Membrane-concentrated landfill leachate (MCLL) is a type of recalcitrant wastewater with extremely low biodegradability. Identification the components and their degradation characteristics crucial for developing effective treatment strategies. In this work, spectroscopic techniques were integrated chemometrics Fourier transform ion cyclotron resonance-mass spectrometry to track compositional changes dissolved organic matter (DOM) in MCLL during Cu-Fenton treatment. The both fluorescent chromophore followed pseudo-first-order kinetics process, sequential order DOM (terrestrial humic-like > microbial humic-like) (aromatic structure conjugated unsaturated structure). exhibited variations response elemental compositions molecular structure. Nitrogen-containing compounds showed an increase relative abundance, while sulfur-containing progressively decreased. Lipids, aliphatic/proteins, aromatics, lignin/carboxylic-rich alicyclic molecule-like O/C ratio effectively removed, resulting transformation from redox state saturated oxidation state. This study provides comprehensive insight into which demonstrates its potential as promising technology refractory
