Dioecious
plants
have

Electrokinetic-enhanced
bioremediation
(EK-Bio),
particularly
bioaugmentation
with
injection
of
biodehalogenation

microbes
such
as
Dehalococcoides,
has
been
documented
to
be
effective
in
treating
a
low-permeability
subsurface
matrix
contaminated
chlorinated
ethenes.
However,
the
spatio-temporal
variations
indigenous
microbial
community
and
activity

matrix,

for
understanding
EK-Bio,
remain
unclear.
To
fill
this
gap,
we
investigated
variation
trichloroethylene
(TCE)
response
succession
EK-Bio
by
both
column
batch
experiments.
For

day

occurred
first

cathode

days)
then
spread
anode

days),
which
was
controlled

microbe
succession.
Amplicon
sequencing
metagenome
analysis
revealed
that
iron-reducing
bacteria
(Geobacter,
Anaeromyxobacter,
Geothrix)
were
enriched
within
initial
60
d
gradually
replaced
organohalide-respiring
(versatile
Geobacter
obligate
Dehalobacter)
afterward.
Iron-reducing
required
an
long
time
consume
competitive
acceptors
so
appropriate
reductive
condition
could
developed
enrichment
enhancement
TCE
activity.

The
widely
used
biofilm
process
in
advanced
wastewater
treatment
is
currently
challenged
by
numerous
exotic
emerging
pollutants
(EPs),
and
the
underlying
principle
of
challenge
adaptive
evolution
laws
under
EP
stress.
However,
there
still
a
knowledge
gap
exploration
theory.
Herein,
we
comprehensively
analyzed
morphological
variation,
community
succession,
assembly
mechanism
biofilms
to
report
their
sulfamethoxazole
carbamazepine
stress
for
first
time.
ecological
role
dominant
species
was
driven
as
pioneer
hub
stress,
deterministic
processes
indicated
functional
basis
transformation.
In
addition,
characteristic
responses
dispersal
limitation
homogenizing
adequately
revealed
pathways
resulting
structural
variation.
Therefore,

biofilms.

study

drivers

phylogenetic

Soil
pollution
is
an
important
stressor
affecting
biodiversity
and
ecosystem
functioning.
However,
we
lack
a
holistic
understanding
of
how
soil
microbial
communities
respond
to
heavy
metal
in
agricultural
ecosystems.
Here,
explored
the
distribution
patterns
inter-kingdom
interactions
entire
microbiome
(including
bacteria,
fungi,
protists)
47
paired
paddy
upland
fields
along
gradient
legacy
mercury
(Hg)
pollution.
We
found
that
richness
composition
protistan
community
had
stronger
responses
Hg
than
those
bacterial
fungal
both
soils.
Mercury
polluted
soils
harbored
less
phototrophs
but
more
consumers.
further
revealed
long-term
greatly
increased
network
complexity
communities,
as
well
intensified
between
protists
other
microorganisms.
Moreover,
our
results
consistently
indicated
based
on
structural
equation
models
random
forest
analyses.
