The sudden entry of Cu2+ into wastewater can inhibit the anammox process, but research on use biochar to mitigate inhibition is lacking. In this study, short-term effects mitigating with different types addition were investigated, focusing nitrogen removal efficiency, sludge characteristics, and microbial community. results showed that under 5 mg/L concentration, modified HBC300 achieved impressive average rates NO2--N NH4+-N, at 97.5% 81.8%, respectively, significantly higher than those blank group (88.8% 60.8%). Modified increases EPS capture reduce toxicity. main genera Candidatus Brocadia Jettenia was significant difference addition, which positive negative correlations functional abundance, H content, total pore volume, DOM specific surface area, proteins (PN) / polysaccharides (PS) ratio.
