The aggregation behavior of ubiquitous dissolved black carbon (DBC) largely affects the fate and transport its own contaminants attached contaminants. However, photoaging processes resulting effects on colloidal stability remain yet unknown. Herein, biochars (DBioCs) were extracted from common wheat straw biochar as a proxy for an anthropogenic DBC. influences UV radiation their kinetics systematically investigated under various water chemistries (pH, electrolytes, protein). environmental DBioCs before after was further verified in two natural samples. Hamaker constants pristine photoaged derived according to Derjaguin–Landau–Verwey–Overbeek (DLVO) prediction, attenuation (3.19 ± 0.15 × 10–21 J 1.55 0.07 7 days radiation) described with decay kinetic models. Pearson correlation analysis revealed that surface properties behaviors significantly correlated time (p < 0.05), indicating profound effects. Based characterization experimental results, we proposed three-stage mechanism (contended by photodecarboxylation, photo-oxidation, mineral exposure) might experience radiation. These findings would provide important reference potential phototransformation relevant behavioral changes DBC may encounter.

Protected areas (PAs) are crucial for biodiversity conservation, but doubts rising regarding their effectiveness in conserving habitat quality. This study used the Integrated Valuation of Ecosystem Services and Tradeoffs (InVEST) model to analyse changes quality from 1980 2020 Wuyishan PAs, a United Nations Educational, Scientific, Cultural Organization, (UNESCO) Biosphere Reserve World Heritage Site known its rich biodiversity. also evaluated conservation outcome with propensity score matching identified main natural socio-economic factors influencing outcomes using Pearson correlation analyses. The results show that (1) proportion area high-quality PAs was approximately 97.73 % 88.95 2020, decreasing trend. (2) demonstrated considerable between 2000. From 2000–2018, protection measures remained effective, slight decline compared previous period. suggests that, although may have decreased, establishment can still help mitigate degradation. (3) A consistently negative at statistic level observed altitude, slope period 1980–2020. Population density strongly correlated over past forty years. Precipitation nighttime-light exhibited significant 2000, while positive 2000 2018. aims serve as reference construction China's PA system promotion country.
