Abstract In recent years, microplastics have been recognized as the most popular pollutants in marine and fresh waters. Plastic is one of used materials all areas our lives due to its cheap, light, durable properties. Because they are main or auxiliary almost industries branches industry, disappearance plastics, which lives, requires very long processes. Since petroleum-derived plastic wastes, bacteria cannot consume directly, decomposed by solar heat radon, only resulting compounds can be consumed bacteria. Entanglement, often associated with the interaction of large marine plastics and larger animals, has not yet been reported in context microplastics (MPs) small organisms. In this study, Daphnia magna was exposed to fibrous fragmentary MPs at concentrations ranging from 1 1000 items/mL for 7 days. The results revealed that tended entangle second antennae tail claws D. magna, whereas merely adhered surface daphnids but do exhibit entanglement. Additionally, swimming speed projected area trajectories significantly decreased 100 group compared control. However, occurrence entanglement slow less pronounced due aggregation MPs. Scanning electron microscopy possessed a rich spine structure on their bodies, particularly tails. by resembled action manufactured "hook loop". Overall, research is observed animals MPs, highlighting direct biological effects beyond ingestion.
