Esketamine (ESK), a new psychoactive substance known for its strong hallucinogenic effect, has been detected in surface water worldwide. The toxicity of ESK to fish at certain environmental concentration remains unclear. In this study, zebrafish embryos and ZF4 cells were exposed (0, 0.12, 1.02, 10.6 μg L-1, marked by SC, LC, MC, HC, respectively) 14 days post fertilization (dpf) 24 h, respectively. Biphasic dose responses induced observed after h exposure. ESK-LC ESK-MC obviously increased embryo area length, height, volume yolk sac, whereas ESK-HC had the opposite effect. appreciably upregulated transcription expression levels vtg, disrupting cell cycle After dpf exposure, KEGG analysis indicated that circadian rhythm, nucleotide excision repair, estrogen signaling pathways top three impacted pathways, with significantly enhancing gene these except cyp7a1 bh1he41. Correspondingly, notably VTG level, aligning relatively high affinity receptors, as analyzed through molecular docking. Our research demonstrated exhibits developmental endocrine-disrupting effects zebrafish, highlighting need address ecological fish.

Effect of early rearing conditions on the behaviour and microbiome of fish with low genetic diversity DOI Creative Commons

Fish performance is influenced by their genotype and environment. For populations with low genetic diversity, adaptation to environmental change can be compromised, but it has been suggested that the microbiome act as an additional source of variability. Early rearing conditions particularly important for fish development behaviour, due dependence on conditions. This thesis explored interactions between environment (diet enrichment) metabolic rate (gut, skin) using captive wild naturally inbred mangrove killifishes (Kryptolebias sp.), where exploratory behaviour closed respirometry were used test killifish diversity analyses performed in both killifishes. Behavioural trials self-fertilizing marmoratus) indicated a significant effect strain (environmental enrichment diet) activity measurements. Incubation time also had substantial role diversity. Gut-microbiome alpha was shaped strain, diet, hatching K. marmoratus diet physical enrichment. An intergenerational influence detected K.armoratus, parental found offspring activity. Gut-microbial comparisons parents identified Vibrionaceae dominant colonizers laboratory reared marmoratus. A over composition distribution observed. The interaction own environments suggests long-term effects (gut) microbiome.
