Abstract Interfacial solar evaporation is considered as an emerging sustainable water technology, capable of capturing energy and localizing the generated heat for fast evaporation. Over past decade, it has drawn significant attention in design optimization materials, structures, devices, to achieve higher conversion efficiency. However, practical applications are limited due complex designs, high costs, difficulties large‐scale implementation. In this perspective, focused on low‐cost recyclable waste utilized interfacial evaporation, recent progress these devices. addition, unsolved scientific technical challenges also discussed, provide a forward‐looking with aim continuously promoting rapid development application cost‐effective thereby alleviating environmental issues.
