Organophosphorus compounds (OPCs) pose potential hazards to human health and aquatic ecosystems. However, limited knowledge of emerging OPCs beyond organophosphate esters (OPEs) hinders a thorough understanding the environmental occurrence exposure risks. Through target, suspect, nontarget screening analysis, 64 were successfully identified in Chinese estuarine waters, including 24 known OPEs 40 analogues (i.e., quaternary phosphonium, phosphine oxide, organophosphonate, organothiophosphate esters). Domestic wastewater agricultural industrial discharges factors influencing OPC distribution patterns. In particular, phosphoniums oxides accounted for over 50% total loading Yellow Jia Rivers, which likely polluted by phosphorus-related industries. Risk quotient (RQ) calculations showed that tetrabutylphosphonium contributed most algae toxicity due biocidal effects onium salts, while chloroalkyl dominated ecological risks daphnia fish. The multicriteria decision analysis approach was further introduced relative chemical ranking considering variations hazard criteria occurrence, fate, OPCs. results indicate aryl have priority similar and, therefore, require more attention.

Triazine herbicides (THs) are used globally to control weeds in urban environments, but their transformation products (TPs) rarely considered due the lack of reference standards. In this study, a total 41 TPs were found wastewater influents and effluents 28 municipal treatment plants (MWWTPs) from six cities China by integrating suspect screening (36 TPs), molecular networking (9 diagnostic fragment searching (12 TPs). Among these, 36 detected for first time aquatic reported environments. Polar THs only partially removed aqueous phase process. Concentrations present ranged 107 435 ng/L. Thus, discharged pose medium risk freshwater algae receiving waters. Moreover, 4 (ametryne, atrazine, terbutryn, prometryne) 3 (atrazine-desisopropyl, TP247, TP258) significant risks several effluents. Considering persistent mobile properties ecological TPs, these contaminants should be specifically further environmental monitoring included regulation.

With the increasing use of fluorinated agrochemicals, more compounds enter into environment. Pyroxasulfone (PYS), a broad-spectrum herbicide containing an aromatic CF3 (Ar-CF3), is expected to grow significantly in application. Although several transformation products (TPs) PYS have been reported, their distribution and contribution processes remain largely unknown. This study combined laboratory simulations field study. In soil incubation surface photolysis experiments, (5-(difluoromethoxy)-1-methyl-3-(trifluoromethyl)-1H-pyrazol-4-yl)methanesulfonic acid (TFPSA) was identified as main TP soil, accounting for over 90% all TPs. Field results showed that TFPSA were species (6.48 ± 1.82 1.54 0.90 ng g-1 wet weight) corn plants (2.55 2.61 31.1 39.6 dry weight roots) before harvest. Surface water experiments TP246 major TPs no significant photodegradation observed. Persistent (P) mobile (M) property assessment indicated TFPSA, TP246, other Ar-CF3 various agrochemicals could be potential very P M (vPvM) substances. More attention should paid

Azole and benzimidazole fungicides are widely used agrochemicals to prevent treat fungal growth frequently detected in aquatic environments. Here, we aimed assess the ecological risks of ten currently azole fungicides, which with aryl hydrocarbon receptor (AhR) agonistic activity, their transformation products (TPs). We obtained over 400 types aerobic TPs for fungicides. Some (approximately 26.7%) exhibited potential AhR activity toxicity different species. Meanwhile, some compounds chlorine element benzene ring structure environmental persistence mobile ability. Several them were environments, posing ecosystems. These harmful should be given attention. This study provides important insight into caused by can provide theoretical guidance pollution control.
