Fine particulate matter (PM2.5) is often linked to a range of respiratory diseases and cellular damage. Although studies have shown that the expression profiles microRNAs (miRNAs) are altered during lung damage brought on by PM2.5, underlying functions miRNAs remain poorly understood. In this research, we explored role PM2.5-induced apoptosis in detail focused miRNA (miR-212-5p) regulates apoptosis. Through dual-luciferase assay, direct targeting connection between laminin subunits γ2 (LAMC2) α3 (LAMA3) miR-212-5p was successfully demonstrated. This study revealing negative regulatory relationship LAMC2 LAMA3, providing important clues for deeper understanding relevant physiological pathological mechanisms. The present showed LAMA3 positively regulate PI3K-AKT pathway negatively NF-κB pathway, which directly leads significant changes rates. reveals previously unrecognized molecular mechanism showing targets thus associates with via PI3K/AKT/NF-κB pathway. These findings not only redefine but also open up new avenues future research.

Pregnancy is a potential critical window to air pollution exposure for long-term maternal metabolic effects. However, little known about early mechanisms linking health. We included 544 pregnant Mexican women with both ambient PM2.5 levels during pregnancy and untargeted serum metabolomics examine associations between (overall monthly) postpartum metabolites, implementing FDR-adjusted robust linear regression controlling covariates. Pathway enrichment analyses (in Reactome MetaboAnalyst) effect modification by fetal sex folic acid supplementation were also evaluated. Higher throughout associated higher bile acids amino acids, dysregulated glycerophospholipids, or lower fatty acyl (FDR < 0.05), among other metabolites. Potential windows of susceptibility monthly on metabolites observed in midpregnancy 0.005). Main findings consistent strata supplementation. Metabolic pathways corresponding positive PM2.5-metabolite indicated enriched acid, dietary lipid, transmembrane transport metabolism, whereas negative associations, we identified altered involving adipogenesis, incretin peptide hormone, GLP-1, PPAR-alpha, receptors 0.05). exposures pregnancy, especially gestation, lipids as well metabolism.

Increasing studies are indicating a potential association between ambient air pollution exposure and fasting blood glucose (FBG), an indicator of prediabetes diabetes. However, there is inconsistency within the existing literature. The aim this study was to summarize associations exposures particulate matters (PMs) (with aerodynamic diameters ≤1 μm (PM

Air pollution is detrimental to pregnancy adversely affecting maternal and child health. Our objective was unravel epigenetic mechanisms mediating the effect of preconception, periconception, gestational exposure inhaled air pollutants (AP) upon placental-fetal phenotype explore benefit an omega-3 rich dietary intervention. To this end, we investigated intranasal instilled AP during 8 weeks gestation (G; D0 18) GD16-19 mouse metabolic status, placental nutrient transporters, size, morphology. Prepregnant mice were glucose intolerant insulin resistant, while pregnant but displayed no major macro-nutrient transporter changes, except for increase in CD36. Placentas revealed inflammatory cellular infiltration with edema, necrosis, hemorrhage, fetal body weight. Upon examination genome-wide processes DNA sequence specific 5'-hydroxymethylation (5'-hmC) 5'-methylation (5'-mC) RNA sequenced gene expression profiles, changes key metabolic, inflammatory, transcriptional, processing genes pathways. An anti-inflammatory diet from preconception (8 weeks) through periconception (GD0-18), ameliorated all these adverse effects. We conclude that preconceptional, periconceptional exposures incite a response resulting features pre-existing diabetes mellitus injury unit. 5'-mC more than 5'-hmC mediated induced dysregulation which together alter phenotype. A intervention partially reversing adversities provides possibilities novel nutrigenomic therapeutic strategy.
