Insects are considered as a potentially eco-friendly, highly nutritious, and protein-rich food source. We evaluated the effects of Tenebrio molitor (Tm) Protaetia brevitarsis seulensis (Pbs) extracts in mouse model D-galactose (D-Gal) aging, focusing on impact insect neuronal viability, blood–brain barrier (BBB) integrity, gut health. D-gal administration led to cognitive behavioral deficits increased anxiety levels. Tm Pbs glutathione, superoxide dismutase, catalase levels; protected neurons brain, preventing BBB disruption brain edema; prevented deposition amyloid-β plaques prefrontal cortex hippocampus. Furthermore, both epithelial integrity mitigated intestinal inflammation. Our findings suggest novel therapeutic potential against aging-related changes; they can be used functional foods aging process by controlling

Ganoderma lucidum (G. lucidum) polysaccharide-1 (GLP-1) is one of the polysaccharides isolated from fruiting bodies G. lucidum. Inflammation in brain-liver axis plays a vital role progress cognitive impairment. In this study, beneficial effect GLP-1 on d-galactose (d-gal) rats was carried out by regulating inflammation axis. A Morris water maze test used to assess ability d-gal rats. ELISA and/or western blot analysis were detect blood ammonia and inflammatory cytokines levels Metabolomic evaluate changes small molecule metabolomics between brain liver. As result, could obviously ameliorate impairment The mechanism related decreasing TNF-α, IL-6, phospho-p38MAPK, phospho-p53, phospho-JNK1 + JNK2 JNK3, increasing IL-10 TGF-β1, regulation metabolic disorders Our study suggests that be exploited as an effective food or health care product prevent delay improve quality life.

Urolithin B (Uro B), one of the major subcategories urolithins (microbial metabolites) found in various tissues after ellagitannin consumption, has been demonstrated to possess antioxidant and anti-inflammatory effects. The current research mainly focused on ameliorative effect Uro intestinal immunity function exploring potential mechanisms its protective role aging mice induced by D-galactose (D-gal). In research, we assessed effects inflammatory injury lipopolysaccharides HT29 cells. D-gal-induced accelerated model vivo that could elevate activities superoxide dismutase, catalase, glutathione peroxidase, total anti-oxidation capability, decrease malondialdehyde content, regulate levels cytokines (IL-6, TNF-α, IFN-γ, IL-4, IL-1β) small intestine, reshape composition gut microbiota barrier mice. Furthermore, inhibited expression TLR4, IRAK4, TRAF6, IKK-β, NF-κB p65, HMGB1 intestine. Therefore, these findings indicated effectively weakened intestine ameliorated through downregulation HMGB1-TLR4-NF-κB pathway be considered a healthcare product prevent diseases associated with an immune system.

Polygonatum cyrtonema Hua is cultivated for its edible and medical value. The steam-processed rhizome of P. the main form daily consumption it has been used traditionally in tonics treating various age-related disorders. aim our study was to compare physicochemical properties antioxidant activity polysaccharides respectively extracted from crude Cyrtonema (PCPC), (PCPS), explore a possible underlying mechanism. The PCPC with molecular weight 4.35 × 103 Da mainly consisted fructose trace amounts glucose, whereas PCPS 4.24 104 composed fructose, arabinose, xylose, mannose, galacturonic acid glucuronic acid. had triple-helical conformation random coil. Both exhibited free radicals- scavenging vitro. In mouse model oxidative damage, or treatment significantly reversed histopathological alterations, reactive oxygen species (ROS) accumulation reduction enzyme activity. They both also promoted Nrf2 nuclear transport by decreasing Keap-1 expression increasing HO-1 expression. vitro vivo, more potent than PCPC.Overall, results suggest that stronger effect on prevention damage activating Nrf2/HO-1 signaling. This demonstrates role provides valuable perspective as functional agent. © 2022 Society Chemical Industry.

With the increased aging of population, extension lifespan and improvement healthspan have become important. Our previous studies showed that rice bran peptide KF-8 exerts an antioxidant effect in cells mice. In this study, we evaluated effects on Caenorhabditis elegans. We found prolonged life nematodes no reproductive toxicity towards nematodes. addition, improved motility resulted extended body length. Using hydrogen peroxide juglone as stress inducers, anti-stress ability upregulated expressions skn-1, daf-16 genes. life-prolonging was lost skn-1 mutant strains strains, indicating may exert anti-aging through daf-16.

These may a mechanism similar endogenous peptides, and can even regulate the release of active play synergistic role with peptides. Most aging studies use rodents that are easy maintain in laboratory relatively homogenous genotypes. Moreover, many using rodent models only focus on activity single or while regulatory effects remain largely under-investigated. Furthermore, these individual organs systems. However, pathological changes one organ usually lead multi-organ complications. Some could be used for rescuing damage associated aging. this paper, we review reports summarize action as well discuss regulation

Accumulating evidence has shown that chronic injection of D-galactose (D-gal) can mimic natural ageing and induce liver kidney injury. Previous studies showed D-gal increased uric acid (UA) levels in mice. The increase UA caused inflammation, accelerated oxidative stress, aggravated Oxidative stress inflammation play vital roles the process. Therefore, reducing mice improved Glucose transporter 9 (GLUT9) is responsible for reabsorption body, its inhibition helps downregulate levels. present study investigated UA-lowering activity GLUT9 inhibitor resveratrol (RSV) using patch clamping technique established our laboratory vitro. This research first to demonstrate RSV effectively inhibits uptake via (IC50 = 68.77 μM) An vivo was also performed investigate possible protective effect on D-gal-induced significantly reduced serum downregulation mRNA protein expression promoted excretion excess through urine. Biochemical analysis downregulated abnormal increases alanine aminotransferase (ALT), aspartate (AST), blood urea nitrogen (BUN) creatinine (CRE) by long-term treatment, which pathological damage, superoxide dismutase (SOD) decreased content malondialdehyde (MDA) kidneys. inflammatory cytokines, interleukin IL-6, IL-1β tumor necrosis factor (TNF)-α kidneys Our findings provide new insights into treatment strategies ageing-induced injury reveal a mechanism RSV-induced reduction individuals.
