The high-altitude, low-pressure, and hypoxia environment poses a significant threat to human health, particularly causing intestinal damage disrupting gut microbiota. This study investigates the protective effects of Brassica rapa L. crude polysaccharides (BRP) on in mice exposed hypobaric hypoxic conditions. Results showed that oxidative stress inflammation levels were elevated group, while BRP intervention significantly increased antioxidant enzyme activities (SOD, GSH-Px, T-AOC) reduced inflammatory markers (IL-6, IL-1β, TNF-α). also restored barrier function by enhancing claudin-1, occludin, ZO-1 expression. Notably Chromatographic metagenomic analyses revealed enriched butyrate levels, promoted beneficial bacteria like Akkermansia muciniphila Leuconostoc lactis, upregulated L-arginine biosynthesis II L-methionine III pathways enhance activity. Fecal microbiota transfer experiments confirmed role mediating BRP's effects, providing valuable insights into prebiotic-based therapeutic strategies for hypoxia-induced damage.

Abstract Modern lifestyle has led human body under a frequent exposure of chronic inflammation. Intriguingly, extensive studies have indicated that Citri reticulatae Pericarpium (CRP), the dried peel Citrus reticulata Blanco and its cultivated varieties, immense potential as an anti‐inflammatory food. Therefore, present review aims to summarize advances in utilizing CRP for prevention controlling inflammation various pathological conditions. In particular, this provides comprehensive overview bioactive compounds CRP, with specific focus on polymethoxyflavones their transformations during aging process. Moreover, underlying mechanism responsible effects primarily involves inhibition inflammatory factors through signaling pathways, such mitogen‐activated protein kinases nuclear factor‐erythroid 2‐related factor 2–antioxidant pathways. The interaction gut microbiota also contributes CRP. summary, offers valuable insights into health benefits constituents, laying solid foundation further development foods.
