A flexible Surface-Enhanced Raman Spectroscopy (SERS) substrate based on silver nanoparticles encapsulated in an agar gel has been probed to detect the fungicide thiabendazole (TBZ) reaching a limit of detection (LOD) 30 ng/cm2. In addition, simple and sensitive strategy was employed for in-situ TBZ fruit vegetable peels. For that purpose, peels different fruits vegetables were intentionally contaminated with amount TBZ, analyte subsequently extracted within few seconds by gently rubbing surface SERS substrate. The lowest value detected eggplant green pepper 50 values achieved apple pear 0.20 μg/cm2 40 ng/cm2, respectively. On other hand, tomato strawberry 0.50 μg/cm2. variation sensitivity can be attributed differences properties above results show this further contaminants practical applications food safety inspection.

Sports doping is a persistent challenge in competitive sports, undermining the integrity of athletic competitions and posing health risks to athletes. This study focuses on development surface-enhanced Raman spectroscopy (SERS) chip for detection β-agonists, such as clenbuterol, ractopamine, salbutamol, which are commonly abused performance-enhancing drugs. The SERS was constructed by depositing silver nanoparticles (AgNPs) onto activated carbon (AC) substrate, utilizing their plasmonic properties ease synthesis. successful loading AgNPs AC confirmed SEM imaging, demonstrating uniform distribution surface AC. exhibited enhanced sensitivity detecting β-agonists compared conventional methods. signals analytes decreased with decreasing concentrations, indicating chip's ability detect low-concentration analytes. Notably, AC/AgNPs composite demonstrated stronger alone, attributed improved efficiency electromagnetic field enhancement provided substrate. limit salbutamol found be 0.003 mg/L, 0.001 0.007 respectively. developed offers rapid sensitive sports control. It overcomes limitations methods, immunoassays chromatographic techniques, terms sensitivity, selectivity, sample preparation time. application anti-doping efforts holds great promise maintaining fair clean competitions.

Chlorpyrifos is one of the most widely used broad-spectrum insecticides in agriculture. Given its potential toxicity and residue food (e.g., tea), establishing a rapid reliable method for determination chlorpyrifos crucial. In this study, strategy combining surface-enhanced Raman spectroscopy (SERS) intelligent variable selection models detecting tea was established. First, gold nanostars were fabricated as SERS sensor measuring spectra. Second, raw spectra preprocessed to facilitate quantitative analysis. Third, partial least squares model four outstanding models, Monte Carlo-based uninformative elimination, competitive adaptive reweighted sampling, iteratively retaining informative variables, iterative space shrinkage approach, developed comparative study. The repeatability reproducibility tests demonstrated excellent stability proposed strategy. Furthermore, sensitivity assessed by estimating limit detection values various models. Finally, two-tailed paired t-tests confirmed that accuracy equivalent gas chromatography–mass spectrometry. Hence, provides promising tea.
