Abstract Background Catechin, a polyphenolic compound in various foods and beverages, shows strong anticancer effects against gastric cancer (GC) cells. This study explored the effect of Catechin on GC cell apoptosis endoplasmic reticulum (ER) stress. Methods cells were treated with different catechin concentrations to assess viability, LDH release, invasion, migration, apoptosis, intracellular calcium (Ca²⁺), ER stress markers, reactive oxygen species (ROS). siRNA knockdown targeted GRP78, PERK, CHOP, NOX4 examine their roles catechin-induced apoptosis. Results treatment significantly reduced increased induced dose-dependently. Catechins elevated Ca²⁺ markers. Co-treatment thapsigargin (TG) intensified these effects, implicating Knocking down CHOP mitigated restored viability. Additionally, catechins raised ROS levels, while co-treatment Diphenyleneiodonium (DPI) or N-acetylcysteine (NAC) lowered ROS, damage, countered viability loss upregulated cleaved caspase-3. Abstract Myricetin is a natural flavonol glycoside that widely found in the fruits, bark and leaves of plant. have been reported to possess variety biological activi-ties, such as antioxidant properties, anti-inflammatory effects, antitumor activity. In this study, we demonstrated for hyperoside inhibited prolifer-ation bladder cancer cells vitro vivo. Moreover, could not only induce cell cycle arrest, but also apoptosis cells. Bioinformat-ics analysis showed myricetin may act mainly through EGFR-Ras Fas sig-naling pathways. experiments activated signaling pathways, up-regulated protein levels EGFR, Ras Fas.
