The gut microbiome has emerged as a pivotal area of research due to its significant influence on the immune system and cognitive functions. Cognitive disorders, including dementia Parkinson’s disease, represent substantial global health challenges. This review explores relationship between microbiota, modulation, decline, with particular focus gut-brain axis. Research indicates that bacteria produce metabolites, short-chain fatty acids (SCFAs), which affect mucosal immunity, antigen presentation, responses, thereby influencing A noteworthy correlation been identified imbalances in impairments, suggesting novel pathways for treatment disorders. Additionally, factors such diet, environment, pharmaceuticals play role shaping composition microbiome, subsequently impacting both health. article aims clarify complex interactions among regulation, evaluating their potential therapeutic targets. goal is promote microbiome-based treatments lay groundwork future this field.

Non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD) has become the most common chronic and is closely associated with metabolic diseases such as obesity, type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM), syndrome. However, effective treatment strategies for NAFLD are still lacking. In recent years, progress been made in understanding pathogenesis of NAFLD, identifying multiple therapeutic targets providing new directions drug development. This review summarizes advances focusing on mechanisms action natural products, small-synthetic-molecule drugs, combination therapy strategies. aims to provide insights treating NAFLD.

Our previous study showed that heavy metal lead (Pb) exposure exacerbates high-fat-diet (HFD)-induced metabolic damage and significantly depletes the gut microbiota-derived metabolite short-chain fatty acid (SCFA) levels. However, it remains unclear whether SCFA is a key involved in accelerating adverse consequences after Pb exposure. In this study, we explored effects of exogenous supplementation acetate, propionate, butyrate on disorder model Pb-exposed HFD mice. We found three interventions attenuated glycolipid metabolism disorders liver damage, with performing best improving obesity-related symptoms. All promoted abundance

Glycyrrhiza uralensis Fisch. is a medicinal herb that can be added to food provide therapeutic effects and reduce the burden of medications. Herein, immunomodulatory polysaccharides (GPs) were verified illustrated by intervening immunocompromised rats treated with different doses GPs, which reflected for adjusting composition structure intestinal microbiota altering metabolic profile. The GPs exerted regulating microenvironment. In particular, could promote growth probiotic bacteria Allobaculum, norank__o_Clostridia_UCG-014, Dubosiella, g__norank_o___RF39 curb harmful Enterococcus. results showed had prebiotic effect, contributed improving environment maintaining health. addition, content beneficial differential metabolites was up-regulated, especially short-chain fatty acids, alanine, aspartate, glutamate metabolism; arginine biosynthesis; glyoxylate dicarboxylate metabolism being most enriched pathways. These pathways imply process effector it are focused. Overall, purpose this article lies in providing support application immune function.

Abstract The utilization of plant‐derived exosome‐like nanovesicles (ELNs) as nanocarriers for oral delivery bioactives has garnered significant attention. However, their distinctive lipid membrane composition may result in elevated permeability within the gastrointestinal environment, leading to leakage carried bioactives. Inspired by concept projectile design, Tartary buckwheat‐derived ELNs (TB‐ELNs) based dual‐carriers are fabricated loading chlorogenic acid (CGA) into cores and bonding selenium nanoparticles (SeNPs) membrane. results indicate that SeNPs bond markedly augments rigidity, therefore enhances stability TB‐ELNs retention rate loaded CGA during digestion. In vitro vivo studies indicates internalized epithelial cells transcytosis via endoplasmic reticulum, show synergistic regulatory effect on high‐fat diet‐induced hyperglycemia intestine‐liver axis. These be attributed fact combination reduces degradation Moreover, with antioxidant property can protect from oxidative damage, thereby enhancing biological activities. Collectively, this study offers a new strategy develop highly efficient systems alleviate diabetes.
