Abstract BACKGROUND Diaphorina citri Kuwayama is the main vector of Huanglongbing (HLB) pathogen Candidatus Liberibacter asiaticus ( C Las). Therefore, reducing Las acquisition by D. crucial for controlling spread HLB. RESULTS This study aimed to investigate effect ZnO quantum dots (ZnO QDs) on . The results showed that QDs were absorbed citrus plants and , inducing reactive oxygen species generation in intestine causing intestinal cell apoptosis. uptake rate was reduced 75% 22.3% after treatment with 2 5 mg ∙ mL −1 QDs, respectively, compared 100% control group. Transcription analysis significant changes expression genes related apoptosis, oxidative stress, DNA replication repair.
