Plastic pollution in paddy fields disrupts soil nitrogen biogeochemistry, prompting the introduction of biodegradable plastics like PBAT (poly (butylene adipate-co-terephthalate)) as a potential mitigation strategy. However, effects nonbiodegradable and microplastics on cycle remain unclear. To clarify this, we conducted an incubation experiment, employing 15N isotopic tracing, N2O isotopocules, molecular analysis to assess impact additives from non-biodegradable (polyethylene, PE) microplastics. This study aimed investigate their emission bacterial, fungal, chemical denitrification. The results showed that PE reduced production denitrification (DN2O) bacterial (BDN2O), while increased DN2O fungal-derived (FDN2O) but decreased BDN2O. inhibited via due toxicity plastic such dibutyl phthalate diethylhexyl phthalate. In contrast, enhanced fungal pathways by facilitating release dissolved organic carbon. Bacterial accounted for 43-56% total treatments only 28-50% treatments. Microbial enhanced oil recovery (MEOR) is an economical and efficient tertiary technology that can be used to increase the of heavy reservoirs after steam thermal operation. The highest reduction (61.59%), methane content (25.96%), asphaltene degradation rates were achieved when low/high organic nutrients alternately added in group L-H. results FT-ICR MS analysis showed addition promoted N1 classes, degree aromaticity N1O2 class compounds (DBE = 10) was reduced. function bacteria, such Firmicutes Synergistetes, effectively activated by alternate nutrients, which could prevent accumulated fatty acids accelerate production through syntrophic relationship between bacteria methanogens. Thus, has potential application enhancing simultaneously reducing improving production.

Although microplastics (MPs) toxicity to soil microorganisms has been preliminarily explored, the underlying reasons affecting direction of microbial community succession are unclear. This study aimed investigate impacts MPs infer assembly mechanisms through phylogenetic bin-based null model analysis, network models, and protein function prediction in five typical Northeast China soils.
