Previously, we have described a successful molecular switch (8-(benzo[d]thiazol-2-yl)quinolin-7-ol), working on the basis of long-range proton transfer. Bearing in mind that its switching efficiency low-polarity aprotic solvents is not sufficient, current communication, investigate detail effect substitution benzothiazole ring. By using DFT approach, ground-state stability tautomeric forms, involved process, modeled with aim finding conditions where clean could be possible variety solvents. The results indicate electron-acceptor substituents increase efficiency, but overall improvement depends positions and electronic particular substituent.
