Removing crude oil from spent hydrodesulfurization catalysts is the first step for recovery of catalysts, while traditional roasting method suffers a lot limitations. In this study, an ultrasound-assisted surfactant cleaning was used to effectively remove and surfactants were screened by experimental theoretical studies. The SDBS TX-100 chosen interfacial tension (IFT) test, their frontier orbitals, electrostatic potential, polarity calculated analyzed, showing smallest LUMO-HOMO energy band gap ΔE 4.91 eV 4.80 eV, respectively, with highest reactivity. hydrophilic structure in regulates wettability oil-water interface, long-chain alkanes have excellent nonpolar properties that promote dissolution oil. Surprisingly, under optimal conditions, residue reduced 0.25%. Finally, techno-economic evaluation whole process analyzed. Compared process, saves $0.31 1 kg catalyst, simple operate no emissions. This study provides new insights into realization efficient removal low-carbon environmentally friendly way.
