This study demonstrates the synthesis of 1D surface vertically aligned nanorods ZnO on fluorine-doped tin oxide-coated glass substrate (ZnO-VANRs/FTOs) synthesized via a chemical route for targeted electrochemical sensing aniline. The ZnO-VANRs/FTOs were 1.57 ± 0.03 μm in length with excellent crystallinity and high density (1.52 × 1013 rod no./m2). ZnO-VANRs formation increased roughness by 2.4- 4.7-fold compared to bare FTOs seeded (ZnO-seed/FTOs), respectively. electrodes could increase effective area from 0.154 0.384 cm2 about 86.85% reduction charge transfer resistance FTOs. peak current response (at 0.281 V vs Ag/AgCl) aniline deposition was boosted 81.52% rise temperature 15 45 °C. at involved reversible two-electron diffusion control process heterogeneous reaction rate constant (k0) 1.82 s–1 formal potential (E0) 0.289 Ag/AgCl. electrode showed limits detection 0.193 μM (sensitivity 0.198 μA·μM–1·cm–2) 0.588 0.065 between working ranges 0–20 20–160 μM, fabricated sensor unprecedently selective toward sensing, p-nitroaniline, chlorobenzene, chlorpyrifos, Cu2+, Pb2+, Ni2+, Cd2+, albumin bovine, Escherichia coli, ciprofloxacin not interfere its sensitivity. However, marginally decayed 2.63% up 6th cycle. Moreover, catalyzed spiked environmental matrices, conforming well liquid chromatography.
