A traditional butahydroxy solid propellant is widely used because of its good energy and safety properties, but isocyanate curing system easily affected by water has low combustion efficiency during curing. In this paper, means the chemical modification method, toluene 2,4-diisocyanate was first to seal hydroxy-terminated polybutadiene (HTPB), then alkynyl group introduced successfully prepare a new alkyny-terminated adhesive (AT-HTPB), which not subjected moisture process better comprehensive properties. The reaction heat release monitored online fully automatic reactor, proved that synthesis path safe efficient. structure AT-HTPB characterized Fourier infrared spectroscopy (FT-IR), hydrogen nuclear magnetic resonance (1H NMR), gel chromatography (GPC). results showed prepared had high purity consistency. Differential scanning calorimetry (DSC), dynamic thermomechanical analysis (DMA), thermogravimetric mass spectrometry (TGA-MS) thermal stability retained advantages lower glass transition temperature (Tg) than HTPB. It observed more obvious microphase separation through an atomic force microscope (AFM), mechanical properties elastomers are superior those elastomers. Then, applied performance compared with BUtadiol propellant. concentrated flame bonding effect. This study proves as broad application prospects in propellants.
