l-Tyrosine-based eco-friendly nitrogen-doped carbon dots have been synthesized using citric acid and isoniazid as precursors along with l-tyrosine via a facile one-pot hydrothermal approach for the corrosion mitigation of mild steel (MS) in HCl solution (15%). The authenticity has established various spectroscopic techniques such X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS), diffraction (XRD), high-resolution transmission electron microscopy (HR-TEM), Fourier transform infrared (FT-IR) spectroscopy. inhibition behavior was studied gravimetric analysis, electrochemical measurements, surface analysis. potentiodynamic polarization revealed that N-doped act mixed-type inhibitor; is, it can both cathodic well an anodic inhibitor, efficiency 99.3% at concentration 150 ppm. N-CDs protect metal by forming layer is particularly physisorbed confirmed ΔGabs values.
