The phenyl-tert-butoxysilanols Ph(tBuO)2SiOH and Ph2(tBuO)SiOH were prepared used for the synthesis of molybdenum 2,4,6-trimethylbenzylidyne complexes [MesC≡Mo{OSi(OtBu)2Ph}3] (1) [MesC≡Mo{OSi(OtBu)Ph2}3] (2) from mer-[MesC≡MoBr3(dme)] (dme = dimethoxyethane, Mes 2,4,6-trimethylphenyl). molecular structures 1 2 determined by X-ray diffraction analysis, revealing a secondary molybdenum–oxygen interaction chelating κ2O,O′ coordination mode one siloxide ligands in case 1. Treatment with an excess 3-hexyne (EtC≡CEt) afforded corresponding propylidyne (EtC≡Mo) complexes, which are equilibrium labile metallacyclobutadiene as evidenced variable-temperature NMR spectroscopy. Thermoplastics, while advantageous for their processability and recyclability, often compromise thermochemical stability mechanical strength compared to thermosets. Addressing this limitation, we introduce an innovative approach employing reversibly cross-linked polymers, utilizing squaramide moieties reconcile recyclability robustness. Herein, detail the synthesis of supramolecularly polysquaramides through condensation polymerization diethyl squarate with primary secondary diamines. This methodology embeds hydrogen-bonding motifs into polymer chains, yielding materials significantly enhanced storage moduli, reaching up 1.2 GPa.
