Abstract Research into the anticancer activity of quantum-sized carbon dots (CDs) has emerged as a promising avenue in cancer research. This CDs delves opportunities and challenges associated with harnessing potential these nanostructures for combating cancer. Quantum-sized dots, owing to their unique physicochemical properties, exhibit distinct advantages therapeutic agents. Opportunities lie tunable size, surface functionalization capabilities, biocompatibility, enabling targeted drug delivery imaging cells. However, we include challenges, comprehensive understanding underlying mechanisms, toxicity concerns, optimization synthesis methods enhanced efficacy. A succinct summary state research this area is given review, emphasizing exciting possibilities ongoing utilizing novel strategy treatment.

Cancer remains a major concern for human health worldwide. To fight the curse of cancer, boron neutron capture therapy is an incredibly advantageous modality in treatment cancer as compared to other radiotherapies. Due tortuous vasculature and around tumor regions, ( 10 B) compounds preferentially house into cells, creating large dose gradient between highly mingled cells normal cells. Epithermal or thermal bombardment leads tumor-cell-selective killing due generation heavy particles yielded from situ fission reaction. However, challenges nanocomposites’ development have been synthesis part well requirement selective targeting delivery therapeutic concentrations with nominal healthy tissue accumulation retention. circumvent above challenges, this review discusses boride nanocomposite design, safety, biocompatibility biomedical applications general public use. As type carbon-based nanomaterial, carbon dots (CDs) have been widely used diagnosis treatment diseases due its excellent optical properties, good biocompatibility low toxicity. In addition, surface functionalization or passivation CDs can change properties CDs, such as water solubility chemiluminescence, broaden biomedical potential CDs. this review, latest research progress modified hard tissue regeneration, tumor treatment, antibacterial activity, dentin pulp complex teeth whitening, wound healing, drug release, fluorescence tracer bioimaging were reviewed. we discussed problems future direction development.
