Sodium salt of aryl sulfinic acid reacts with enynone in a different manner, yielding α-furyl sulfone and stereodefined vinyl toluene EtOH respectively the presence ZnCl2. The salient features this protocol include chemoselectivity, broad substrate scope, high efficiency, yield, easy purification. synthetic utilities products are demonstrated by cycloaddition cis–trans photoisomerization reactions.

Abstract In recent years, Morita‐Baylis‐Hillman (MBH) carbonates have been extensively used in domino reactions for the synthesis of novel cyclic and acyclic compounds. This review highlights progress made last decade a series compounds from an uncyclized reaction or annulation MBH carbonates, which demonstrates that excellent reactivity high research value as representative substrates organic synthesis. We hope summary understanding can inspire chemists to apply these design more efficient reactions, will be beneficial drug chemistry.

N-Heterocyclic carbene (NHC)-mediated aerobic oxidation of aldehydes has gained interest in recent years. However, its application NHC/Pd synergistic catalysis been unexplored. We have developed a strategy to synthesize allylic esters directly from and Morita-Baylis-Hillman (MBH) carbonates using (cooperative) under conditions. This transformation gives access the selective formation multifunctionalized E-alkenes by β-attack on MBH carbonates. catalytic system also allows use water as cosolvent air sole green oxidant.
