Abstract Hollow multishelled structures (HoMSs) provide a promising platform for fabricating photocatalysts, because the unique structure optimizes effective surface and mass transport, showing enhanced light absorption, optimized transport highly active sites exposed. Subsequently, rational design on HoMS photocatalytsts is elaborated to boost photocatalytic activity with efforts in all dimensions, from nanoscale microscale. Breakthroughs synthetic methodology of HoMSs have greatly evoked prosperous researches since developing sequential templating approach 2009. The dawn photocatalyst coming after revealing temporal‐spatial ordering property, which also discussed this paper pioneer works demonstrating energy/mass transfer processes. Some insights into key challenges perspectives photocatalysts are discussed. With reviewed fate future hopefully new concepts innovative can be inspired flourish sun‐rise field.

Metal–organic frameworks (MOFs), constructed from metal clusters/ions and organic ligands, are ideal materials for photo/electrocatalysis, mainly due to the advantages of large surface areas, high porosity, easily tunable optical electronic structures. Herein, recent important advances on MOF‐based photo/electrocatalysts including pristine MOFs, MOF composites, derivatives summarized. The novel strategies improve photo/electrocatalytic performances highlighted. Finally, current challenges future development MOFs photo/electrocatalysis discussed ad outlined.

As an emerging class of semiconductors, Metal Halide Perovskites (MHPs) form a major paradigm photocatalysts for its truly unique and superior optoelectronic properties over the traditional photocatalysts. Based on similar phenomenon plant's chlorophyll, use solar radiation to split water into oxygen hydrogen. MHPs, therefore significantly contribute family as novel rapidly expanding technological advancement. Whereas Z-scheme heterojunction is charge transfer mechanism that promotes diversified photocatalytic operations by utilizing ability sunlight, correctly synthesized semiconductor are potential substances addressing today's energy environmental concerns. Expanding number active reductive oxidative sites possessing high redox capacity just handful advantages recently designed which closely mimic actual photosynthesis mechanism. An efficient direct Z scheme heterojunction, system combined with enables us create higher efficiency activity. By combining second constituent appropriate band arrangement offsets, can be created, enabling innate competencies perovskites fully utilized.
