Two novel D-π-A fluorophores based on selenopheno[3,2-b]thiophene, possessing triphenylamine and 4,4'-dimethoxytriphenylamine units as donors dimesitylborane an acceptor, linked through a π-conjugated thiophene spacer (BTPAST BOMeTPAST, respectively) were synthesized. Their photophysical properties investigated in both solution the state of aggregation compared to those their corresponding donor parts, having no (TPAST OMeTPAST). All compounds displayed large Stokes shifts between 100 140 nm with positive solvatochromism solvents different polarities. While BTPAST induced emission (AIE) twisted intramolecular charge transfer (TICT) characteristics, others preponderated TICT effects. The sensing abilities BOMeTPAST towards anions studied. This work covers the development of non-fullerene acceptors for use in organic photovoltaics built using N-annulated perylene diimide dye. The classic dye has been extensively used to construct acceptors, leading device power conversion efficiencies over 10%. Strong visible light absorption and deep frontier molecular energy levels have made such materials (both polymeric) near ideal pairing with narrow-gap conjugated polymers bulk-heterojunction active layers. N-annulation provides an extra site side-chain engineering alters electronic structure polycyclic aromatic core. Herein, the design, synthesis, optical properties, and mechanofluorochromism characteristics of a series conjugates having covalently linked triarylborane (TAB) anil/boranil units (TAB-anil: 1 a-3 TAB-boranil: 1-3) are reported. The electronic interactions between TAB in 1-3 were fine-tuned by changing boryl moiety's position on phenyl spacer connecting BMes2 (Mes=mesityl) units. A moiety at meta (1 a) stabilizes enolic form (E-OH), whereas para (2 3 keto (Z-NH) solid state. However, solution a, 2 exhibit keto-enol tautomerism both ground excited states. Compounds show red-shifted absorption compared with 4 4, which devoid moieties, indicate effective participation an empty p orbital boron center 1-3. showed fluorescence variations response to external stimuli such as mechanical grinding. Long phosphorescence lifetimes 18-46 ms observed for compounds properties rationalized context quantum calculations.
