Abstract Photocatalytic reactions for fuel generation are crucial the world's energy needs. Covalent‐Organic‐Frameworks (COFs) have been extensively studied as promising designable photocatalysts these due to their efficient visible‐light absorption, suitable energy‐band structure, facilitated intramolecular charge separation, and fast mass transfer. However, activities of pristine COFs remain unsatisfactory, intermolecular recombination. Recently, COF‐based heterostructures, which combine with metal‐sulfides, metal‐oxides, carbon materials, or MOFs, attracted increasing attention enhancing solar‐to‐fuel conversion efficiency by facilitating interfacial photo‐generated carrier sensitizing wide‐gap semiconductors, promoting surface redox reactions. Thus, a review state‐of‐the‐art progress heterostructure in such H 2 evolution, CO reduction, O splitting is design new promote conversion. In this review, heterostructures highlighted based on synthesis, properties, reasons enhanced activities. Moreover, principles raised each reaction, insights into related research. Finally, concluded proposing future trends photocatalysts, supports, analyzing photocatalytic reaction dynamics, together considering practical applications.
