Photosensitizing assemblies based on twisted intramolecular charge transfer (TICT) active donor–acceptor–donor (D-A-D) system BrTPA-Qx having bromine atoms at the periphery have been developed. Through strategic incorporation of para-position to nitrogen–carbon bonds phenyl rings periphery, halogen–halogen interactions are induced in nanoassemblies H2O:DMSO (99:1) solution. Hence, anti-heavy atom effect is induced, and limitations TICT (dark excited state) heavy (triplet deactivation via radiative decay) could be overcome. Because effect, supramolecular demonstrate high efficiency promoting activation aerial oxygen electron energy pathways aqueous media. The significant influence stabilized state anti-heavy-atom controlling ROS generation was validated through in-depth solvent-dependent photophysical studies investigations structure–activity relationship several model compounds. notable photosensitizing activity manifested their ability efficiently catalyze oxidative coupling benzylamine (via type I II mechanisms), Knoevenagel condensation aromatic aldehydes (type II), hydroxylation arylboronic acids I) under mild conditions.
